Does anyone know if the WASC cake can be made into an Apple Cake. I would like to add grated apple to it. Would I substitute the apple for some other ingredient in the cake or could I just make the full recipe and add the apple as an extra ingredient. Has anyone ever done this?
Can 't say I have tried it but I'd just add the apples as extra. If you are using my *original* WASC recipe I'd dec rease the liquid slightly. I'd also add some apple pie spice and maybe leave out the almond.
Yeah I'd add in the grated apple. You could also use apple juice for the liquid too maybe?
I think it would be great if you start w/ a spice cake mix instead of the white. Either would be good though.

1 tsp. apple pie spice = 1/2 t. cinnamon, 1/4 t. nutmeg, 1/8 t. allspice, 1/8 t. cardamom, or some variation therein.
I would just add shredded apple and apple juice or cider to WASC. I do it all the time with flavors and it comes out great. Last week I did mandarin orange. Used some canned mandarin oranges chopped up and used some of the liquid for the liquid in the recipe. Everyone loved them.
