I want to make a cake similar to this http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1316990 for this week and have to see if I can get fresh strawberries at the store (in Australia). If I can't find strawberries to make the chocolate dipped strawberries, what would look good on the top part of the cake instead? I have tried to think up some ideas, but haven't come up with much so I would appreciate any thoughts!

How about truffles.?

Any kind of decorative loose candy would look sweet.

You could use thick sliced bananas and dip half of them in chocalate

Cherries with stems?

Maybe some apples dipped in chocolate... kinda fally feel to it??

Thanks for the suggestions I went to the store today and saw we do have strawberries, so I think I will use some chocolate dipped and then maybe make some Oreo truffles to mix in on top so I don't have to use all strawberries (they are quite expensive!).
