My county fair (the great East Texas Yamboree thumbs_up.gif ) does not have a cake contest. If I wanted to petition for a contest, what kind of rules should I 'suggest'? Or better yet, what are the usual rules in a county cake contest?

Since this would be for the Yamboree, obviously the cakes would have to be made utilizing yams somehow, but what other rules are there? I'm clueless, as I have never entered a cake contest before in my life!

TIA,

You may want to just google cake contest rules and read through a few that pop up. That might give you some ideas.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but it gives you a little bump anyway.

Good luck!

The rules for county fairs are much less strict than for other cake contests icon_sad.gif
Basically judging at fairs is by sight.....1st impressions.
I just found the 'rule book' from my county fair......I'll pm you the info.
