Lets all be strong on the weekend!! I snacked on cake scraps last night. icon_sad.gif BAD me. My husband is out of town for the weekend too, and I tend to eat worse. I need to focus, think about my goals, and NOT eat badly!!

I did not do anything after class last night but eat my dinner and watch a movie then crawled into bed and crashed. I've been so drained of energy this week. UGH!! So no points for me yesterday.

Weekends are hard. That sleeping in throws me off. Tomorrow I'll be cleaning the office, which includes bathroom, sweeping and mopping. I'll just have to make sure I eat something before I come over here and not to skip on lunch. I can do it. Hopefully.

Katherine, have you tried putting a note on your fridge or cabinets to remind you the postives about eating better? I bought a dry erase board for my fridge and have listed all the healthy food choices I have in the fridge on it. That way I can pretty much decide what I am going in there for before I open the door and shop around.

I do live alone though, so I have only been buying healthier foods (minus cake stuff) and tossing out the other stuff. If it isn't there, I can't eat it. And yeah I guess I could eat 10 bags of 100 calorie snacks but I'm sure I'll get tired of eating before I got to number 10. icon_wink.gif Right?

Are you shorter? Put any snacks you keep around for hubby up high so that it is a bigger effort to get to them. Or put them behind the healthy stuff, so you have a reminder to eat right first.

When my nephew would come over to my house alot or spend the night I'd keep pop tarts or other snacks for him. I had a plastic container that had his snacks in them and a plastic container that had 100 calorie snacks in it. That way I didn't have to see the bad stuff when I wanted something sweet to snack on.

You can do it. I can do it. We can do it.

Margie, we have pretty blue skies here after a little rain last night, so maybe I'll be able to hunt me out some pansies to plant this weekend. I can't wait. Right now I'm trying to decide what room I am going to start to clean. It is either my bedroom, the bathroom or the kitchen.

How's the weekend going?? Mine is going fairly good, I've been eating pretty good! No exercise on Friday or Saturday, but this morning I did a 5K run to support breast cancer, and I have bootcamp at 4pm!! Tomorrow is my official weight and measurements day, for my records... looking forward to some good losses for Wednesday! icon_biggrin.gif

Hey guys. Hope everyone's weekend is going well. Tracey, I did get the pansies down. I put slug bait around them and checked this morning and they still look great. No snail bites.... Last year I had a time with slugs. I mean they ate every flower and the leaves looked like swiss cheese.... I found this bait and ever since using that, no more problems. Hope you get yours down soon. Wish you lived closer, I bought way to many and now don't know what to do with all the remaining ones icon_rolleyes.gif
Well, I didn't eat much yesterday. Way too little calories and guess what? I weighed this morning and up almost a pound icon_surprised.gif Now is that weird or what? I was just so busy, that I couldn't fit in time to eat... Crazy busy.. Oh well, doing better today. Not weighing again until Wednesday for our weigh in... Now I know why I shouldn't weigh every day icon_lol.gif Hey, have you guys seen the preview for the new Wii Fit? Looks like it's pretty good. I believe it comes out tomorrow. Might have to check in on that.....

Katherine, awesome job for doing the 5K!!

Margie, I ended up not getting the flowers this weekend. It rained Saturday and Sunday. I'm debating now if I want to try to run down to this flower shop after work today or not. I have to go to Walmart with my mom (since she went to Kohl's with me last night) so I guess I'll just have to see.

I didn't do anything exercise wise yesterday. So far I've only added up 10pts this week. I have to work harder on it, I know I do!

I did pretty well eating on Saturday, sorta stayed on a schedule. Yesterday I woke up then read for ever and ended up putting off eating. Finally ate then went shopping with my mom. On the way home I talked her into some Starbucks and then when we got home my brother and SIL had brought us some dessert from Carino's. So instead of dinner I had coffee and tiramisu. Since Thrusday night I have been thinking I wanted something bad to eat. You know how you can go weeks eating well then it just hits ya. Well today I did the bad thing for lunch, and ended up having a fast food burger. Instead of getting the full size burger I did get the Jr one and I got a small onion ring instead of the large. So I know I was bad, but I know I could have done alot worse as well. I'll eat better tonight and keep going with it for the rest of the week.

My goals for this week are to exercise and to plan out and follow a menu. icon_smile.gif

Tracey I'm sure you did just fine. After all, like you said, you got the smallest burger and small onion rings. You could have gone way overboard and done really badly. You have to have things that you crave every now and then. Remember, this is a lifestyle change not a diet and eating a small burger every now and then is realistic and in my opinion it will keep you on track in the long run.... I think hubby and I will go out to dinner every two weeks and at that dinner eat something that we've been craving. I don't think I'll feel too guilty about that. Again, I think it keeps one on the right path. Deprevation for me will lead to total disaster.... Been there, done that icon_rolleyes.gif
Hmmmm, points? OK, just remembered that I missed several threads when my computer was down. I think I need to go back and see what that's about. I can't believe that I forgot to catch up on those........

Oh I totally believe this has to be a life style change for me and I know that I can not go the rest of my life never eating fast food. I also know that I can make better choices when I am going to eat fast food. I'm okay with the hamburger today and the coffee and dessert yesterday, because it has been several weeks since I have had any of those. Of course next time I might want to plan them a little more spaced out.

The points is easy. I had made a suggestion about using points to account for the challenge exercises and after a little debate we decided that we will give ourselves 5 points for each day for any work out, expercise, Katherine's challenges or an activity that really gets us up and moving, like yard work or mopping the floor.

Just a way for use to say yeah I did it. You can add up the points and set up a reward system for yourself, and work towards something you want. It is another way to motivate us.

Tracey, it sounds like you are doing great! icon_smile.gif I know I have cravings for fast/bad food every now and then, and I do give in to them. I figure if I don't, when I do give in I will just be 10x worse... I had MacDonald's for supper on Saturday night, but I didn't finish off the girl's leftovers, like I usually do, instead I gave them to our dog. icon_smile.gif

Margie, I'm glad you got your flowers down! icon_smile.gif I hope you are doing great!!

We all need a small indulgence every now and then, the key is to not eat a full cheesecake, just a piece! lol!!

I got up this morning and lifted weights, then walked the 5.5km to work. icon_smile.gif I had a rough morning though when I got to work and my husband was trying to reach me, I had my music up loud on my ipod and didn't hear my phone. He has such a temper, now I am in a bad mood for the rest of the day. icon_sad.gif

Regarding the points, do they start Wednesday and end Tuesday for the week? If that is the case I'm doing well going into tomorrow's weigh in. icon_smile.gif I missed Friday and Saturday but exercised all the other days, so 5X5 = 25 points for me. icon_smile.gif

I hope everyone has a happy and positive weigh-in-day Eve! lol. thumbs_up.gif

Katherine, yeah I think they should go Wed through Tues, that way they fit in with the weigh in schedule.

I'm still at 10pts. I went to bed last night saying I was going to get up early this morning and work out. Nope I slept in as late as possible. Ugh! There is still tonight so maybe I can get some more points after class.

I walked into the office this morning to a ringing phone and have had it ring several times since then (I've only been here 30 mins). I have a feeling it will be one of those days. Ringing phones and needy people. So I'll be moody with you this morning!

Try to have a good day!

CHALLENGES FOR WEEK BEGINNING OCTOBER 7

Congrats to all of you who completed exercises, or exercised, over the last week! I hope weigh-in day is kind to you all. Smile Here are this weeks challenges, we have decided that 5 points will be awarded to each person on each day that they exercise, you can do the challenges, or whatever you want! We want everyone here motivated to do SOMETHING daily. Smile

Cardio Challenges
1) Do 25-50 jumping jacks before you sit to eat each meal and snack. icon_smile.gif
AND/OR
2) Set your alarm for about 30 minutes earlier in the morning and get out for a walk, jog or some skipping, or a combination of all 3!
BONUS
3) Complete 25 "Mountain Climbers" three times this week. (video on youtube) If you can't do it with your hands on the floor, do them with your hands on a chair pushed up against the wall, or even with your hands on the counter!!

Strength Challenges
1) Do some squats! Squatting works your core, legs, butt and abs! Be sure to keep your back straight, and don't let your knees go forward past your toes. After you do 10 squats, stay down in your squat position for a count of 10 (or more!!). Repeat two times, 2-3 days this week.
AND/OR
2) Add some weight to your crunches! Abs are just like any other muscle in your body, they need resistance 2-3 times a week to get stronger! For your regular ab crunches, put a weight on your chest and crunch! Do 3 sets of 10-15, about three times a week.
BONUS
3) Complete 1 full push up! That is, from your toes, arms straight at shoulder level, nose down to the floor, now back up! This is something we should aim to accomplish to show our increasing strength and abilities!!!

Please have fun, these are just for an extra challenge and a bit of fun, but the main thing is to get out there and walk or exercise however you wish!!

Good morning my fellow monkies. Katherine, wow, sounds like you are doing absolutely wonderful. I'm so proud of you!! Without a doubt, you are on a roll and will reach your goal....Thanks for the challenges. I personally won't be able to complete them all but I will do what I can. Got a couple injuries that I'm dealing with but that won't stop me completely. I've had to stop the daily 2 mile brisk walk on the treadmill. I have chondromalacia patellae and it's been manageable for the last couple of years but I overdid it when I started walking again. I knew better but did it anyway. I may need physical therapy again to get it back to where it should be. Anyway, may slow me down but won't stop me from reaching my goal. May just take a bit longer but that's ok.
Anyway, to today's weigh in. Even with the slow down in exercise, I did lose 2 more pounds and 1/2 inch off the waist. So I'm very happy about that. If I could keep going like this, I would be ecstatic....
I need to get my grocery list together and work on eating more veggie dishes. I've really been checking labels closely, WOW!!! The amount of sodium in most foods is unbelievable!! I think I'm gonna start making my own soups. It's so convienient to just grab a can off the shelf but geeez, I really think I can make it a bit more healthy if I just make it myself. Anyone got any great soup recipes????? Ok, guys, everyone have a wonderful day and stay positive. We're all doing GREAT!!

Yay Margie!!! Congrats on the losses! icon_smile.gif

Sorry to hear about your injuries. icon_sad.gif Just continue to eat well, do what you can, but please don't overdo it! The challenges are just for fun, or a challenge, of course they can't be done by everybody!!

We have a lot of salt free products here, or very low salt at least. I buy them when I can, but even a can of tomato sauce has a crazy amount of salt! And don't forget to look at your Special K label, wowza! It is amazing that it is promoted as a healthy breakfast item with all that sodium!

I don't really follow a recipe as the only soups I make are sweet potato curry and turkey with barley. For turkey soup (which will be made next week after our Canadian Thanksgiving) I make 2 huge pots and freeze a bunch of individual sized tupper ware bowls of them! Then I just empty the frozen soup into a bowl to microwave. SOOOO easy! icon_smile.gif I also freeze things like stir fry and rice, spaghetti, or anything that would be a convenient lunch for my husband and I!! icon_smile.gif

OH, great idea Katherine. My problem is that I don't know what freezes well and what doesn't. I think I'll see if I can find more information on freezing foods. Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. I just bought a huge container of grapes and they are sooooo sweet and juicy. I'm gonna freeze some of them. They aren't real firm when you thaw them but they still have that great sweet taste. The honeydews have been wonderful this year too. Never tried to freeze those. I would imagine it would be pretty mushy when that thawed out. Ok, I can feel my mind working overtime now. Gotta get more info on all this icon_lol.gif

Sept 23: 157.2
Sept 30: 156.4
This week: 155.6

Again I was a few shy of 1lb, but you know what, the numbers are getting smaller! It is just another thing to show that I really need to quick up the exercise. I know in my head if I do it I will lose faster.

I only have 10pts for this week. I could give you excuses, being tired, long days, but you know what, I just didn't make time for it. I didn't push my self to do even 10 or 15 mins of something which I could have easily added in. All my fault and no excuse changes it.

I keep forgetting about measuring my waist. I do think my tummy is getting smaller cause it looks like it is changing. It doesn't look pretty though, looser skin over fat. But hey, smaller fat under is a better thing right?

I'm jumping in for a quick post this morning but will be back this afternoon. Margie if I forget to comment on the soups and freezing remind me. I've made a couple of healthier soups in the last year and I've done alot of food freezing since I'm single and live alone. icon_smile.gif

Katherine have you ever done or looked up the reverse crunch? When I do the regular one (haven't tried with weights yet since the orginal is still pretty challenging for me) I always feel it in the upper stomach. The reverse crunch you feel it in the lower portion. And to me they are almost easier to do.

Maybe (I know more work for you) we can list a beginner version of the exercise and a more advanced version when it applies. Like the crunch verse weighted crunch. That way if we do get some newer people joining us they can pick which one they can do for their activity level? I know these are to challenge use to try something new and different and you are such a sweetheart for taking the time to do it, so just take my suggestion as such. It is just a thought.

Margie, I'm back. icon_smile.gif

When it comes to freezing more things work than you think. I have frozen alot of stuff from casseroles to spaghetti sauce and meatballs. I've bought those mini loaf pans to do my casseroles in (tator tot cassole, lasgana, chicken spaghetti). They are nice smaller portions that you can bake up and have a fresh hot meal with little mess in the kitchen. When I do it that way I place a layer of wax paper under the foil that I remove before I bake it. Then you can slid the loaf pans into a quart size ziplock bag, stack then freeze. I saw a loaf pan at Walmart the other day that would be a great two portion size.

For spaghetti sauce, I have some with and with out meatballs in the freezer. Those are just in plastic containers, but you can place them in just ziplock bags. When I want them I will either sit them out to thaw or run enough water over the bowl to be able to pop it out into a pan or bowl to warm up.

My only problem with plastic bowls in the freezer is if they fall out and hit the floor they often crack. I've broken many bowls this way. I think the frozen plastic is more brittle.

I've also made a veggie chili recipe that freezes well. I'll have to look back and see if I have posted it on here somewhere. There is also a Minestone soup I have made that does well in the freezer.

Soups are pretty easy to make, especially since we want to stick with the broth based ones. icon_smile.gif Just start with some yummy veggies and cook them in a little oil until they are getting soft then add your liquids (chicken, beef, veggie broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juice...) and spices. You can always add some cooked meats to it. The only think I have noticed in the recipes I have done is that when adding things like canned beans you want to do them towards the end. Since you are really just heating them through. You will bring your soup to a boil then reduce the temp and let it simmer for 20-30 mins.

Since you can add what you want you get a chance to play around with flavors. Potatos though have a tendency to get mushy when frozen so you may want to avoid using alot of them. Also when it comes to adding pasta, that can also loose texture when freezing in a soup. If you have something where you want a little elbow pasta in it, you can freeze with out the pasta and when you are reheating it just add bring the soup to a boil and add the noodles in then.

Veggies and fruit can also be frozen (we buy them frozen all the time right?) Things like onions and bell peppers can be chopped and frozen for quick and easy use in recipes. They loose their crispness in the freezer but in recipes where you are going to cook them anyway it won't matter.

I asked years ago, on here I think, about freezing things since I do live alone and it is harder to cook for one and cheaper to shop in bulk. I learned you can freeze your breads and tortillas, as well as pancakes and waffles. You can freeze precooked bacon. I've cooked and frozen beef and chicken taco meat, plus sloppy joe meat, and chicken and beef meatballs. You can also freeze cheese, but like onions and bell pepper you want to use it when cooking.

Way to go Tracey!! A loss is a loss, and you should be proud! icon_smile.gif

I know I have a layer of fat over my waist, I blame 2 pregnancies where I gained way too much both times, but maybe I shouldn't make excuses and just hope that it goes away sometime??

I need to look up the reverse crunch. icon_smile.gif I do a variety of abdominal exercises but am always looking for new things as I get bored of lifting weights. I can try doing beginner and advanced next week, I was trying to avoid that so put in the OR option. lol!!

I went for a 10K run yesterday, today I got up and lifted weights then biked to work... On a roll I am! icon_smile.gif

Congrats on your weight loss. But watch out, cause I"m trying my best to catch up to you icon_razz.gif I think I'll post like you did with the loss each week. I have to admit, I did weigh again this morning and I'm down one more pound so right now I'm feeling pretty happy with myself. I think I'll try to use the eliptical this afternoon. The old one we had caused my knee problem to escalate but we've got a new eliptical and maybe that won't affect it as badly. Don't know till I try....

Katherine, if it is too much trouble to add a beginners and more advanced that's fine. It was just an idea. We can always include a note saying that people can look up variations of the exercise and do one that works for them. I'm no where near trying to add a weight to my crunch. Still trying to get through a set of correctly done crunchs with out thinking about quiting. I wasn't sure if anyone was reading this behind the scenes thinking, oh no there is no way I can do that.

Atleast you have the two pregnacy to blame for your stomach. I haven't had any kids so I can't even use that one. icon_sad.gif I'm hoping though that after I lose weight that the skin will tighten up atleast some. My mom seems to think so because I'm still young, but I think about how long it has been stretched since I have been overweight since a child. So it could really go either way. And then on top of it I do hope to have a kid one day, so there goes the stretching agian.

Margie, I've spent an afternoon or two in the kitchen working on freezing meals before. It is nice because while you spend more time in the kitchen then, it makes prep for many other meals later nicer. Plus you can buy meat in bulk, cook it and make several different things with it. Just sit down with some of your favorite recipes and make ya a list. Pick recipes that have simaler items, so you chop up veggies like onions, bell peppers and such once and use it for several different things. Or you boil a chicken and break it up to make two of three different things.

Also as you are cooking in general you can make extra and freeze it. Often times doubling a recipe doesn't add that much additional time to cooking. So then you have two of three meals out of a little more time it takes you to make one. icon_smile.gif

I really got into freezing because there were many things my mom taught me to cook growing up, those family comfort foods. But the recipes I learned to cook were for atleast 6 people. Some of those recipes aren't easily broken down to make smaller amounts unless you want a half of a can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom sitting around. I tried freezing those half of a can of things left over, but then would forget they were in the freezer the next time I need it and would open a new can. My mom suggested freezing and it worked nicely.

I've also frozen chicken enchilladas and manicotti. For those I put the sauce for them in a pint size ziplock, and put that in a larger bag with the enchillada/manaicotti with any cheese I was using. This gives you pretty flat packages that will stack in the freezer. And you can do them in single portions or in family size ones. When you get ready to cook them you can put them in a casserole dish in the morning in the fridge then toss them in the oven in the evening. I've also put them in the microwave to defrost the sauces so I can spread it over everything, and to cut down the baking time.

On alot of those when I am baking I will cover it with foil for atleast half of the baking and that seems to help bake it through better, and will keep the tops from getting too crispy before the middle is hot.

I also weighed in this morning, and I was down a pound more too. Do you think the scales are ganging up on us? LOL

Yesterday evening I did 50 jumping jacks, 32 mountain climbers (boy do those get your heart rate up), two different kinds of squats and then did 5 or 6 different arm exercises with weights.

This morning I got up 30 mins early and did 30 jumping jacks, 3 sets of 12 crunches, 3 sets of 12 reverse crunches and a 10 min Pliaties Leg work out using resitance bands. I tried the pliaties abs with the bands from the same vidoe, but that didn't go over very well. Hence the doing the other crunches.

I argued with myself back and forth yesterday. I want a hair cut but last night was the only night until next week that I'd be able to get one. I decided to put it off and told myself that if I could earn 25 work out points this week I'll get a hair cut. That way I have something to work towards. I'm really bad about just going and doing or buying so I can be honest and say I changed my mind about 3 times yesterday before I said no, you really are going to work for this.

Tomorrow after work I am leaving to drive to Arkansas. My parents went up there yesterday to camping and they wanted me to bring my nephew this weekend so they can take him to the Diamond mines. I'm hoping that I can get up early enough in the morning to get some exercise in before work. Saturday, if all else fails me and my nephew will take a walk around Daisy State park. I figure we can do another walk Sunday before we head home.

Good luck today ladies!

I have my bike here today, and it is absolutely pouring. icon_sad.gif I guess I will test my dedication if I bike home?? I weighed this morning (I do every morning, but only record once a week) and was exactly the same as yesterday. Why can't my scale gang up on me too? LMAO!!

Yours ganged up on you last week, remember?

We have a big chance of rain tonight and tomorrow. When you work for a roofing company you begin to pay alot of attention to those chances. I hope the rain slacks off for ya so you can get home. Think of it this way though, atleast you will get wet then get to change and didn't have to wear wet clothes all day.

I have this thing about golf clubs. My brother accidently hit me in the head with one when I was younger. Had to get stitches and still have the scare to show for it. So the shish sound of the golf club during the swing really make me cringe. Hope you have a good weekend and that things get better with hubby. HUGS!!

I had pizza and break sticks for lunch and I ate too much! I knew I was doing it and I totally felt it after and still feel it. UGH! I'll learn right? Salad and fruit for dinner tonight and maybe another work out.

Hi ladies!

I just wanted to pop in and say hello. My name is Maggie, and I am due to have a baby in a little over 5 weeks. When I got pregnant, I was about 15 lbs over the max weight Id like to be, and now Ive packed on another 30 lbs during the pregnancy. I am soooooo excited about the baby (she will be our second; we also have a 3.5 yr old son), but I am truly dreading the diet I will need afterwards. I have been REALLY bad during this pregnancy, especially in letting myself have waaaaaay too much sugar icon_sad.gif I also havent been able to exercise for months because of extremely painful ligaments.

It will be so very hard to get into good habits after letting myself eat whatever I want for so many months, and not exercising at all. So I hope it would be okay if I lurk on your thread and hopefully get some inspirtation so that when the time comes I will be READY to jump back on the bandwagon. At least I hope so!!

Hope you all are doing well, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi Maggie. Oh, congratulations. I know you must be sooooo excited. Wow, only 5 more weeks and you'll have your precious little girl. That is so wonderful. I'm so glad you popped in and I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Absolutely, pop in anytime. We would love to have you in our little group after your daughter is born and you are ready to lose a few of those pounds. With a bit of determination and dedication I'm sure you will do just fine and that weight will come off in no time. Right now if I were you I would maybe try to cut out some of those sweets and just focus on eating healthy. That's something we're all trying to focus on. I was having such a craving this afternoon for something sweet. Chocolate came to mind icon_rolleyes.gif but instead I was good and ate a small bowl of grapes and that did the trick. They were so sweet and juicy and left me with no more craving for anything else. YAY!!
Anyway, I do look forward to chatting with you and we will all be here cheering you on when you are ready to get back into shape. Nice to meet ya!!

Welcome Maggie!!! How exciting that your second baby is due soon. icon_smile.gif We look forward to helping you out as you set out to lose weight after your little one is born. I agree, you should try to cut out some sweets for now! Those sweet addictions and the tendancy to gobble them down stay after the baby is born, at least for a while!

I have 2 children myself and am still wondering how I managed to gain so much each time, and realizing how very hard it is to get it all off!! My youngest is 3.5 and I am finally lighter than I have been in about 8 years (which was before any pregnancy...)

Hello Maggie! I totally agree with Margie and Kathrine. We are not dieting. We are making a live style change. We are trying to move our selves from bad habits to better healthy ones, habits that we can continue with from now on. Take time now and start making small changes that you can keep doing after you have the baby.

I ended up going to bed late last night which combined with the rain this morning I was not inspired to get up and work out. It's suppose to rain all day here. UGH!! Hopefully it tapers off this evening, cause I really don't like driving in the rain, especially when I'm going somewhere new. Won't get a work out in today, but hopefully the weather tomorrow will let me do some walking or something.

Happy Rainy Friday everyone!

It's super rainy here too!! I can't remember the last time I saw that big yellow glowing thing in the sky, what's it called again?? lol!

Well, I didn't bike home after yesterday because it was pouring so I got a ride. Today, it is still raining, but I figure if weather is my excuse then there are weeks on end here where it could rain and I could make excuses! So, I rode my bike home against the wind (HARD 5.5 km) then ran back to work (another 5.5 km). That's my exercise for the day, I'm chilled now but happy I went!!

I'm going to try getting up for a walk before we leave town tomorrow, then when I get back on Sunday I have bootcamp. So far so good for exercise and eating this week! Have a great weekend everybody. icon_smile.gif

To all the ladies in the chunky monkey forum. As a person who has been overweight my whole life, I would just like to say to you that first I applaud you and second and most importantly the the key to losing weight first and foremost is... Don't beat yourself up! This has got to be the biggest reason that most of us cannot lose weight. A physician once told me that if one once to lose weight this is what they need to do: Throw out any packaged prepared foods (a lot of these food have hydrogenate fats which stay in your body) that you have in your kitchen (not good), choose organic veggies and fruits, organic meats, walk regularly. No white! Avoid things like bread all-types, flour, sugar, white rice (reason: most of these things are bleached and not good for you) if you must eat it butter not margarine. He said that you will lose weight very slowly, but you will lose weight and you will keep it off. Have that occasional cheat and don't allow yourself to feel guily about it, because that will lower your self-esteem and will make your body react by eat more food. So got ahead, indulge but do it wisely. Instead of having 3 scoops of ice cream, only have one and do it without feeling guilty. Also for Kay_NL, I would like you to know this: Once you have lost a certain percentage of body fat your body will reach a leveling off period and your weight loss will stall. Don't despair, it will pick up again. You may just have to give it a small kick in the pants. Most of all, do not do starvation type diets. They will always fail and you will always gain more weight then you lost. I know that it is hard to believe, but if you eat several times in small amounts throughout the day you will lose weight. I didn't believe it when I first started either. But I have lost 75 pounds, and kept it off. I was extremely obese, so I still have a long way to go, but I am getting there slowly but surely. But please remember, that beating ourselves up is our worst enemy. Best of luck to you all and keep your chin up.
