iamcakin' that is great progress and very normal! In your first weeks, you lose your water. Plus in my first weeks, I was losing 3, 4 and one week I lost 5.2 lbs!! And I KNOW it's bcause I stopped drinking 6-8 cokes a day and switched to coke zero (0 calories). I also stopped eating meal #6 from wendy's everyday .... that's 22 pts just for that meal and I only get 25 a day! icon_surprised.gif

But seriously, when my work schedule prohibits me from rgular dog walk duty, I can see it on the scale. I still lose .... but not as much! icon_sad.gif

IamCakin, do not be depressed! That is almost 2lbs a week which while watching shows like the biggest loser make you feel it is nothing, it is a great weight lose. Everything I have read says that you want to lose about 2lbs a week. Slower weight lose is better for your body, mentally as well. It gives your mind and emotions time to catch up with what you are doing.

We all want to see quick big results, but we have to take a step back and look at the big picture.

Congrats on those 7.6 pounds, that is 7.6 less than you weighed a month ago. Be excited about it!

iamcakin - yeah I have to agree with Tracy and Debi. The amount that you have lost in 4 weeks is absolutely wonderful. You really don't want to lose too quickly. Trust me, it comes with consequences that you'd rather not deal with. Your weight loss is right where it should be. Congrats on the loss. You're doing great!!

Just got back from my weight watchers weigh-in. Lost 2.2 lbs this week for a total of 18 lbs in 80 days!

At 25 lbs, I'm buying a new pair of jeans!

Woo Hoo Debi! icon_smile.gif

I weighed in this morning, but I saw three different numbers. I hate when the scale does that. I weighted at two different times. The second time because the number was very low I weighed again. I saw the two different low numbers several times, so I don't know what it is.

I can say all three were less than last week, which is a plus. I wasn't expecting a big drop, just figured this weeks weight would be a more realistic base number than last week after the 12 days on the road and 3 days in the car to get home weigh in.

Guess I'll weigh again in the morning to see what it says?

Sunday I made it to the store, stocked up on good for ya stuff and this week's baby step to getting back to eating better is to eat my three meals a day, watch the mindless snacking, and if I do snack to choose healthy low calorie snacks. Next weeks baby step will be to work on getting my portion controls back down where they need to be.

It is a start, or should I say a restart.

Guess I'll go chance my tag line here, since I've gained alot of those 15lbs back. icon_sad.gif

Tracy - it looks like you are on your way back down again. That's great!! Just ease back into it slowly and you will do just fine. I lost a little bit this past week. It's getting more difficult now to lose weight. I weighed this morning at 133. I had set a goal weight of 130 by the time we go on the cruise but looks like the best I can hope for at this point is 132. Oh well, such is life and I can live with that. Geeeez, I just realized that as of this morning I have lost 50 pounds since January. YAY!!!

Texas, I'm fortunate in that if I find a food I like, I've no problem eating it every single day. I know many people can't do that, but I can. So I stock up on Progresso soups that have the weight watcher points right on the label. I only buy 1 and 0 point soups. I can "hearty" it up by adding one serving (about 1/2 to 2/3 cup) of whole grain pasta to it for only 3 pts.

But a 0 pt soup, a salad and a Coke Zero for lunch ..... I am stuffed and have used ZERO of my weight watcher points!!

And the weight watcher ice cream fudgesicle bars (1 pt each) are delicious!! I can eat 5 of these .... or one cold hot dog! Guess which one(s) I pick? icon_lol.gif

There ya go. Thanks Tracy. We leave in another week. Getting things packed up and with everything our family has been through lately, we are ready to get the heck out of Dodge. I have to admit though that I'm still pretty nervous about the "gulp" "gulp" water part of it..... icon_lol.gif

Debi, I can eat the same things over and over alot. I eat yogurt with something most mornings for breakfast. My problem is like last night, I cooked turkey meat and turned it into taco meat. I got about 5-6 portions out of it, and no matter how many different ways you dress it up, by about portion #3 I'm ready for something else!

I gotta work on having a meal plan again, know what is my freezer and make a plans to eat out of it. I also need to do my veggie prep again. I have learned I am more likely to get my veggies if they are ready to dump and cook, than if I have to take time out every night to cut a serving or two of brocolli off the stems.

I know my biggest mistake before was reverting back to eating fast food lunch during the week with my brothers. I'm working on cutting that back as well. I'll probably still eat with them once a week, but I know that when I do I need to make better choices.

I have also decided that Hank can not live in the cat's bedroom. As unsightly as he is in the living room, I'm too good at out of sight out of mind. So I'll have to pull him back out and give him a place in the living room. Which will be a work out in itself.

I should really check other forums outside the Cake Decorating Business! LOL. This is an awesome thread. I have about 50 lbs to lose and I just have a sweet tooth so it's bad. I've started just having salads at lunch and dinner (with a sandwich) to get more veggie intake. I have also started doing some Wii exercises - it's fun. Since I hurt my back I can barely weight train whether or not I know what to do so slowly ease back into it by doing some swimming. GL to everyone in their goals!

Salads are good, but I have to be careful with them. I always want to add the extras that really stack up on the calories: olives, cheese, bacon bits, dressing, you know the good stuff. icon_wink.gif

If you can add in extra veggies, cucumbers, carrots, radishs, variaty of lettuce or spinach, that really ramp up the good stuff for ya, you are good.

I love veggies, so eating them isn't a problem for me. I've also gotten use to eating alot of the plain with no added butter or cheese sauces.

Tonight I am either having some pasta salad with lots of veggies added, turkey taco meat salad or turkey taco meat taco with black beans (repeat from last night.)

When I do that, I think of it as like going on vacation. Yeah, I spent more money (points) than I should have and my savings account (pounds) isn't where I want it to be, but now that vacation is over, it's time to get back to the discipline and start socking away some good money (healthy foods) into the savings account (my food choices).

Once a month I splurge at Five Guys Burgers and Fries or some other "wow I shouldn't eat this food" place! I have a great time on my food vacation, then it's back to being responsible!! thumbs_up.gif

Heading to my weekly weight in this morning. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hit my 20 lb mark today!!!!!! party.gif

Have ya all noticed the worse part about losing weight is when your bra starts getting baggy? Man, I hate that! icon_razz.gif

Debi - I've never tried Five Guys Burgers but have seen the place. I'll have to give it a try sometime. I absolutely agree with you. You have to splurge every now and then. Otherwise I think you set yourself up for failure. It's just not reasonable to think that you will never eat those high calorie meals that you love so much ever again.

I'm totally with everyone on the splurging. You just have to do it respondsiblely and not all the time. Another thing to keep in mind is that one day is just one day. There is always that afternoon, evening or the next day to stop yourself, have a little chat and get back on track. Don't let one day derail your hard efferts. Just consider it a side trip and get back to the real destination!

I'm down almost 2lbs since I got back from CA, so that is a plus for me. I don't feel like I can count it as a lose, since I've already lost it once, but that is okay.

SJC, don't worry about scaring people off. You will notice on this thread that some times we have a lot of posts in a few days and then no post for a few days. Anytime you need encouragement, help, or an atta girl, just find the post and bring it back up to the top.

I'm still working on getting back on track myself, but I'll try to be around more. icon_smile.gif

Hey Tracy. Congrats on the loss. You're doing great!!!
I did manage to lose just a little this past week and am at 132. As I mentioned before, my goal was 130 by this date but that didn't work out. My second goal was 132 so I'm feeling happy that I accomplished that. I'm trying to squish my walking shoes into my suitcase. It's so full already but I've gotta have my shoes. Planning on getting lots of exercise in while away. Looks like we will be leaving a day earlier than planned because of Earl. Darned Earl!!! So hope the islands weren't too devastated.

GREAT JOB LADIES!!!!!! What awesome inspiration.

I hear ya on the splurges and believe me, I have never denied myself those splurges throught this journey. I am just bummed cuz I lost 3 pounds last week and gained it back this weekicon_sad.gif I did something I shouldn't have tho. I made homemade pie crust for a meat pie a few days ago. I am a sucker for eating raw dough. I know that grosses people out and sorry for that. lol

Anyway, it started with the dough and one thing led to another. Oreos that were in the freezer for an upcoming cake called my name and I lost willpower. Same with Nachos and the yummy meat pie leftovers. (sigh) It was a serious binge!!!

You gals are right tho. Seriously there is no reason to beat myself up about it. What is done is done and all I can manage is the present and future. I gotta get these last stubborn pounds OFF!!!!!

I need spellcheck!

Been there done that. One thing leads to another and another and another until you stand up to yourself.

Do you journal your food? I sooo need to get back to that, because you start to think twice about eating some things when you know you will see it all in black and white infront of you. People also say to journal your feelings when you do have situations like that. That way you can see if maybe your moods or emotions are triggering 'hungry'.

So I finally drug Hank (the ellipitical) back out to the living room. Let me first say I forgot how big that thing was! And two, I soooo did think I would make it very far. I set it for 30 mins, and was like we shall see what I can do. After about 2 mins I was like just let me get to 10 mins. At 10 mins I was almost to .8 miles so I decided to just finish out the mile. I did it, and didn't die, and so far today I don't hurt. Or course I expect I will later tonight.
