Do You Use Cake Drums?

Are these strong enough to carry a 4-tiered cake assembled? I've always used 1/2" boards (can't think of the name, more like wood), but they get so expensive! I'd love to try the cake drums, but are they really sturdy enough?

Yes, and yes. I use cake drums for all my cakes and never had an issue.

Yes, that is what i ALWAYS use. If the cake is more than 250 servings, then i hot glue 2 drums together and glue ribbon on the side to hide the joint.
