I am making a WASC cake for this weekend, and was wondering if I could replace the 2 tsp. of vanilla and also the 2 tsp. of almond extracts with 4 tsp. of coconut extract? The person I am doing the cake for wants coconut cake, and I didn't know if this would be 'too much' or too strong of a coconut flavor; I am also torting the layers with a coconut buttercream and sprinkling coconut between the layers..........so would the 4 tsp. coconut extract be too much?

Thanks for the help!!!!!

When I made a coconut WASC I actually just used a coconut cake mix. I kept the vanilla but subbed coconut extract for the almond. Then I frosted it with milk chocolate frosting! mmmmmmm that was a good cake! icon_biggrin.gif

Yup, that's basically this recipe without the pecans or coconut flakes.
