Ahhh...I can't believe anybody still remembered! Those posts were such a long time ago!
Anyway, it was a life lesson for her, for sure. I found out because she left a notebook open on the couch in the family room. I was picking up, and the tear stained writing jumped up at me "I can't believe I had sex with him!" Honestly, I think she wanted me to find out. Basically, I had known she had a crush on this guy, same age, and they ate lunch and held hands. I had thought the relationship was cute. But, he was pressuring her. Evidently he'd invited her over to his house when no one was home. You know, "if you love me, you would". So, she did. Caved into the pressure. Then she was so upset and knew it wasn't anything she wanted, so she told him "no more...I'm not ready for this". He immediately dumped her.
Anyway, I confronted her and drug her sobbing to the gyno. She was so upset with me, but I pointed out that if she had thought she was old enough to let that boy into her body, she was SURE old enough to get checked for diseases and pregnancy. We did a whole bunch of talking. She was honest with me afterward, and didn't have sex again for years.
Basically moms.....don't assume they're too young!

It's a shame she went through that, but lucky that you two have a close enough relationship that you could talk about it, and even took her to the dr. A lot of kids go through hell to hide it from their parents!

Well, sadly, we didn't talk enough BEFORE it happened. But, unfortunately kids have to learn things for themselves I guess. I'd talked to her about peer pressure and all that, but it didn't sink in until it happened. I think she learned that I'd still be there for her, even if I was terribly upset. I was so upset FOR her at the same time I was furious. What she went through was awful. I wanted to hug her and smack her all at the same time!
