What Kind If Icing For Butter Pecan Cake

i am wanting to make a butter pecan cake for a family holiday party but I dont' know what icing would taste the best with it, no fondant, what do you think?
I've never had that type of cake before, so I'm no expert. But, what about cream cheese or vanilla SMBC. The SMBC would be a nice and light topping. Just a thought.
I have always used my regular b'cream Flavoring I use is vanilla, butter flavor &almond.
I'd stick with something simple; butter pecan cakes are very high in flavor and flavored icing might just be too much. Cream cheese would be great because it's not as sweet as buttercream, and I love a cooked brown sugar icing, but it's so incredibly sweet that I'd worry it would compete with the butter pecan flavor. But now I"m going to have to try it to see!
International Delight makes a liquid Souther Butter Pecan coffee creamer (Available at walmart) and I used it recently to go with a spice cake. I used Sugar Shacks buttercream recipe and the flavor was subtle but appropriate. I think it would work well for you because it doesn't compete. You can use it instead of water or milk in your favorite recipe.
I also noticed they have a Black cherry coffee creamer, that's next on my list to try
Oh I make butter pecan cake all the time and cream cheese icing is most definitely the best. Taste very yummy together.
I like using either Butter Cream Cheese or Praline frosting for a Pecan cake.
