I have been making my own butter cream frosting and .. ive been told that the longer i mix it in my mixer the fluffier it will become. Now i have done this and it ends up as though the shortening is stiffening and the taste is just like the powdered sugar.. does anyone have ideas or even recipies they care to part with.. I was even thinking about using whipping cream to make it smooth n fluffy. could this be possible?
thanks.
Hi there! You might want to try Indydebi's recipe http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-6992-0-Indydebis-Crisco-Based-Buttercream-Icing.html and also Sugarshack's http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-5313-0-Sugarshacks-Buttercream-Icing.html
Good luck!
I use indydebi's recipe and sugarshack's recipe (both in the recipe section) and I like them both. They are creamy and crust very well.
use sugarshacks recipe from here... then look on YouTube for her video tutorial... perfect icing with NO air bubbles!
I don't know about fluffier but mine sure is a lot creamier when I let the mixer go longer:
