I am looking for a chocolate buttercream that frosts well and smooths well. I have used the wilton regular icing and added the cocoa powder but it seems like i have to add too much water and have to mix it too long that it gets extra whipped and then doesn't smooth well. any suggestions????

You need to make Sharon (sugarshack)'s icingicon_smile.gif

Then remove about 1 cup powdered sugar & replace w/a cup of UNsweetened cocoa powder.

I use my regular bc recipe and add the chocolate just before adding the sugar, sooo good!!

The chocolate syrup frosting recipe on this site is a great texture to work with, very smooth and creamy. Everyone that has tasted it tells me it is wonderful. I haven't had the opportunity to taste it yet because I just had a baby and me eating chocolate things doesn't agree with him.

Try adding melted white chocolate chips when you make your bc, before adding the powdered sugar, I use about 6-8 oz with a 2lb bag powdered sugar. It is wonderful.
