I have an order for this weekend for a Sports cake for a 10 year old girl.
The mother said she is really into all sports and named off basketball and softball particularly and just kept saying all sports.
She told me to surprise her with the actual decoration.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I should mention the cake will be a 9 inch round or square but only 2 layer. I'm splittingthe cake for a shared birthday. The other part will be heavy metal themed.
I would make fondant sport balls (&/or equipment) to put around the sides of the cake.
I'd probably make a sq and put 2 spo9rts on each side.
Not sure if this one 9" cake is for both themes? Then put them on two sides OR put the heavy metal on the top.
