It's like comparing apples to oranges....TAKE them both! you did a good job on each one!
Both cakes are beautiful!! If you did them using the Wilton pan?? KUDOS to you!! I have seen that pan up close and would not attempt that cake for love or money. LOL Great Job!
Well i guess that I am going to be the person who thinks differently. I like number 2 better.
I love them both (I love Abby)!! lol...But I would have to go with the Sheet cake!
I like the sheet cake better, but I like the butterflies and such on the cake board on the 2nd one. So maybe you could put the butterflies somewhere on the sheet cake. 
I like the 2nd one better not because one looks better than the other they are both great. It is just that the time it takes to do all those little stars deserves to be seen! And I like the fact that she is the whole cake not just part of it and the butterflies put me over the top very adorable.
They're both cute but I like the second. Also, it looks more muppety (yup, I just invented a word, lol!)

How neat you saw through the eyes of both groups when you were creating the cakes. That was important research we all will benefit from your work. We now know what kids prefer is not usually what adults prefer and vice versa. We can better tailor to our recipients now. Thank you for sharing!
Did the sheet cake have just a topper on it? If so I definately like the one you put all that hard work into, the only reason I think people choose the sheet cake is because it didn't seem as crowded, but the butterflies I agree were a cute touch so......#2 for me, even though its over 
2... i wont even attempt one but i luv them, they take sooo long
