Will cake batter freeze and still be good when you go to use it? Will the cake still rise? What about taste?

Thanks

Cake batter is one thing I haven't been able to figure out a way to freeze yet.

why not just go ahead and bake the cake and freeze it? Wrapped properly you can hold it in the freezer for quite some time.

You can refrigerate cake batter, but really the best solution is what Indy said.

I just saw a quote in the whimsical bakehouse book, they freeze certain cake batters in there prepared pans. They pulll them out of the freezer & wait till they are room temp before baking.
