OK here is the link to my 2am cake. I was pretty happy with it till I stuck my fingers in it when I was there. icon_surprised.gificon_cry.gif I haven't gotten any frantic emails about the cake falling over so far though so I guess I am good. icon_biggrin.gif LOL.

I feel ya, been awake since yesterday morning, was up all night...only I left myself with 3 cakes to finish for today. Thank goodness I am all done! Call me the queen of procrastination! Glad to hear that I am not the only one with red eyes. icon_wink.gif

okay... before I toddle off to bed to pass out until tomorrow (or until hubby decides I need to cook dinner... can we say Widow? I knew you could...), here are the pics of the sports cake, cuppies, and smash cake.

And it was all worth it when the Dad saw the cake! LOL The mom had a clue. The dad had no idea. They've declared that their wee one had better like my cake, since he'll be eating it at every birthday for the rest of his days. icon_razz.gif Made me tired just thinking about it, but what a nice thing to say! icon_smile.gif

ETA: I'm so tired, I forgot to add the pic. Sigh. here ya go. I'll be a good girl and go post 'em in my album, too. icon_razz.gif

Well, I'm finally finished about 15 minutes ago. Just enough time to take a quick shower and go deliver. Then I am coming home and going back to sleep. I'll post pics tonight.

Nice cakes ladies! Will I see you again Friday night or have we all learned our lessons?! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I didn't get any pictures of my cake. icon_sad.gif No time/forgot. Had to cook the rest of the food this morning, transport the stacked cake and food, and set it up. Oh yeah and do a quick rehearsal for the ceremony (A end of the year thing for some teenage girls that my sorority "mentors").

Good news, the place where the ceremony was held didn't charge us because I gave them the leftovers icon_smile.gif and I got an order out of the gig!

You are all so funny, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I was up till 3:30 am that Friday night and got up early to get back at them again. One of the cake designs I did so many time I didn't bother taking pictures of it. It's just like the sheet cake in my photos that's a beach theme except it was only a 9x13 with chocolate shells and a flower on it and I wrote "Sue's 30" in the sand. The other cake my DH took pictures of but I'll have to post it later. It wasn't a decorated cake but one of those cakes that have the chocolate dipped pirouline cookies around it with a bow and filled with fruit and oreo truffles. I think that cake was more time consuming than if I would have decorated it icon_confused.gif . It took me a while to get done--Chocolate and humidity do not mix icon_lol.gif

This is great...I am always up all night, and often have to work the next day! This Friday night was the first time that I decided that I could go to bed after all cakes were baked (about 11) and decorate in the morning. Let me tell you, Saturday I was a frantic mess! I had until 4 till the cake had to be delivered, but didn't get there until 5! I don't know what's worse, last minute stress or no sleep to make sure its done! Here is my cake...

the boys loved their cakes! I fought all afternoon with the optimus cake. It was so hot here yesterday that the icing just tried to fall off the cake. Obviously I took those pics at home before the heat got to them. By the time I got the cakes to the party, the front of the car was slidding off ane the pipes on the truck were trying to fall off. the only thing that stopped that was the dowels I drove into the board. Thankfully, I took my icing bags and Viva, and I was able to fix the cakes at their house. But If I ever do another Optimus cake, I am going to use pretzel rods for the pipes. That darn icing just kept sliding down the dowels.

I love that more "goobers" came out of the woodwork! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Unfortunately, icon_lol.gif, twooten, I will not be joining you this Friday for another all nighter. That will be the first weekend all month long that I don't have a cake to make. But you all have fun! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Those cakes are great! Doni I love the little smash cake - sooo cute! Well finally got some rest yesterday but was up last night doing my last cake til next weekend! The internet has been not playing nice which is why I haven't posted anything.

Here are my cakes from friday night. The first one is my first ever square 3 tier, I'll do way better next time. The more I look at it, the less I like it .. I think there's to much baby feet but that is what the customer wanted and she was happy with it so that's all that matters. I don't know why but to me my purple on that cake looks bluish.

The second one is just a graduation sheet cake using the wilton grad cap pan on top. I swear on that one it looks like my 2 year old did it.. soo not happy with it. LOL if you look I screwed up on the writing and put that first instead of drawing the tassel first. Oh well that's what I get for staying up all night. Customer loved it and was happy.

The third one was for a baby shower, the girl wanted a replica of the pregnant belly sheet cake, got the idea from someone here not sure who tho icon_sad.gif anyways that one came out cute and she liked it. I sure wish I took a better picture of it though, I always feel rushed when I'm at the place of venue taking pictures so I wannna get in and out.

The fourth is a sponge bob tier cake, got the idea from here too.

That was my excitement for the weekend, what a ride haha

Mike your cake is way cool, and bettycrockermommy I love yours too! I don't know how you did it, maybe one day I'll try a real 3d cake.

I feel like I'm missing something else lol .. oh yeah I wish I knew how to take good pictures. It seems no matter how hard I try they always come out crooked and the angle is off.

I'll talk to you guys later! icon_smile.gif

ps sorry for all the pics in one post!

This was fun! Turns out I do have another cake for next weekend... a girls' Saturday out. My best friend has been learning all about wine, so I was thinking either a grape theme, or a wine and cheese theme. I'd love to do a bottle, but I'm not sure how. If anyone knows of a good thread or tutorial for that, I'm all ears! icon_smile.gif

Anyhow, I'll probably start this thread again come friday. icon_smile.gif
