I have a friend who wants a cake covered in icing.
The problem is that it is an angel food cake that she wants in a square shape covered in fondant or rolled buttercream... wouldn't the weight misshape the cube?
do you have any ideas of how to pull this off?
No, it can't be done, it is too heavy. This a very light weight cake and could not stand up to the heavy BC or fondant. Recommend something else.
Yup image a sponge with a brick on top... flatorama! So...
I have another idea. make 2 cakes... well sort of:
Make the angel food cake for eating with a nice bowl of whip cream and some fruits of their choosing. Then a dummy square cake with the rolled buttercream or fondant and what not.
Problem solved... and then maybe you can get the cake back and use it as a demo.
Good Luck.
