I found mine inthe paint department in a bin right at the paint counter. The one I bought was $3.98 and it came with a 6oz. jar instead of the 1 oz. that the guy on e-bay was selling. The refill chargers were $2.98. I haven't tried mine yet, but I'm hoping to this weekend.

Hope you find them!

Jenn

when you want to lustre dust large cakes, you can' tuse the airbrush or you will clog it...I heard that you were able to airbrush lustre dust so I loaded my airbrush with lustre dust and vodka..and sure enough cloged it..lol

you add the lustre dust and vodka in the glass bottle and use the spray as a propellant, if you follow the instructions on the box, you should be able to do large cakes with an even coat of lustre dust quite quickly and evenly

The Home Depot near me does not carry the Preval Sprayer. I got mine at a Sherwin Williams paint store. I think many of the paint stores carry them also. Hope this helps.

That's such a handy idea! I guess you just have to find the right ratio of vodka to luster dust. Thanks for sharing!

MaryAnn,
The Halloween cake is adorable, but that pink tiered is FABulous! Could you possibly post that in your gallery so we could see an enlarged closeup of the detail work, please?

Oh, crap! icon_eek.gif I have been just using Luster Dust and Super Pearl in my little Badger airbrush on just about everything I do! I guess I should stop doing that, huh? I guess it is worth a couple of bucks to get one of these sprayers to save me from having to buy a new airbrush!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info!!!!

I do this but just be sure to clean it real well. My badger is on can air right now. Funny thing is Badger says they do not want us to use can air but they sell it?? It has froze up my line twice ruinning the O ring costing me $15.00 each time to replace!

whooooohooo!!! I was going to save my money to buy an air brush system for $250.00 guess now I will be going to home depot and spending $3.00
now, can you use the little prevail sprayer more than once? I just want an occasional shiney cake, so I think this will work for me. for one of my dummy cakes I wanted the fondant to be shiney, like with the pearl dust, so I hand painted the whole cake with a tiny paint brush...never again!!

so excited about this new toy!

Ok so I'm just hearing about this sprayer as of now.. As Ace of cakes will just start to air tonight for me...
Is this sprayer only good for luster dust or is it good to spray color as well?
I will be looking for it tonight for sure!! Thanks for the tip!

Sounds like a great cake toy to me. I'd also like to know what else you could use it for. Do you need a new can every time you spray?

OK so I will ask also, can you use this to spray color too. icon_confused.gif
