Geesh!! Wonder what her budget is for the dinner?

Here's what she is telling the caterer:

"I can only afford a very small hamburger (USDA Select grade) per person....but can you make it appear that they are being served 9oz USDA Prime Filet Mignon? Oh....and I want to make sure they have a nice salad, baked potato, and some steamed broccoli as well?"

What if you separated the tiers with flowers? Like the cakes that have a tier of cake, a layer of flowers, a tier of cake, a layer of flowers? That would give more height, and also get rid of the need for more layers, hopefully.

I would ask her to provide the flowers. That way you arent shelling out the cost for flowers, tell her that she needs to pick them out either fresh or silk, and provide them for you so that she can more accurately match her colors/theme.

Just an idea for future reference.

I tried posting these yesterday but the system crashed on me.

Here are a couple of pics of a 6-tier dummy cake I did for a bridal show. In the pic with the bride, you can see the cake towers two tiers over the girl's head!

That's crazy, I HATE people who always want everything for nothing! I live in Canada, and I get TONS of people wanting me to make them a cake, and I give them a price (which is cheaper then most places around here) and they don't write back OR they write back later and tell me they found someone for "WAY CHEAPER" Anyhoo, This girl needs to get a reality check and know how much work you will put into just making the cakes...not to mention icing them and putting all the fondant on. GOD 6 layers or more? All your $$ would just be going towards buying fondant to cover it. Some people's children I tell ya....

Maybe she wanted to put it on the floor like a Christmas tree?

for $200.00, i would do up to a three tier and the rest would be dummies.

Dummies take JUST as much time to decorate as real cake. I wouldn't touch her order.
