Hi. How many petals do you put on your fondant/gumpaste/marzipan roses? Thanks in advance.

The answer to your question depends on the type of rose you are making and the method you are using.

For a Wilton type rose about 15 for a full sized rose.

Others only require 5 petals.

I use the 5 petal cutter and put on 3 layers of the 5 petals.

I'd suggest adding more until it looks right. To many...take a few off. If it messes up to much, eat it and start over! Happy baking!

Don't usually count them....keep adding until it looks right. Some might have 5, some 9, some up to 13. It depends on the size you want and where it's going.
