Why did they do this? Is it because of the expected increase in entries?

The Mid-Atlantic Cake show had grown so large 98 wedding cakes and 290 divisional cakes that the decision was made to have two shows. So there will be a show at the same facility next April called The Great American Cake Show, formerly of the Mid-Atlantic Cake Show.

There will also be a show called the National Capital Area Cake Show, formerly of the Mid-Atlantic Cake Show held the end of March 2009. It will be located in Burke, Va at the Lake Braddock Secondary School. The facility is awsome! All of the rooms have great audio visual equipment. We can use as many of the separate class rooms as we need. The cake room will be in their extra clean gymnasium area. The vendors will be in the huge cafeteria area. The school has 2 fabulous home ec. rooms outfitted with 8 full kitchens so we can do sugar and chocolate classes!

It is really going to be amazing! To get more info on both new shows as it becomes available and to volunteer to help out! Keep an eye on the Mid-Atlantic Cake show website. Soon links will be added that will give information on both new shows. or don't hesitate to pm or e-mail me -- A

Thanks Amie! It has definitely grown in 3 years from the little building(s) at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
