I finally got a chance to post this photo! I asked the couple not to tell everyone that I made the cake...because I was a guest at the party and I really didn't want to steal the bride-to-be's limelight.

Well....she told everyone I made it...and guess what everyone talked about ALL night long? The cake, the cake and the cake..

My face hurt at the end of the night becasue of all the smiling. The waitresses, other parties in the restaurant....they all wanted to know about the darn cake!!! Well...I warned her!

Your avatar makes me crack up every time! The cake didn't really take that long...just a few hours. The plain box without the open lid is really just some piping work to get a great believable effect. I think even a novice would make it easily. The open lid is not difficult, either....it just takes a little more time.
