I need to locate a clear acryilic or glass wedding cake stand for a wedding that is coming up on November 3. The bride wants to fill it with rose petals. She saw a picture of a wedding cake done like this online but we can't find one anywhere in our town or nearby. The bottom layer of the cake is 16x16 so we need atleast an 18x18x4. Does anyone have any ideas?
Wow that's beautiful! The only thing I can think of is to have one specially made by like a glass cutter or window replacement store. Something along that line. I've never seen anything sold like this. Very nice idea.
I did see something similar on CC that was a clear bowl with white lights under the bowl and it was on a mirror....that was beautiful! Good luck!
The only idea I have is to go to a glass replacement shop. They could cut glass or acryilic to the size you need. They should be able to tell you or sell you product to glue together. They may do finished work for you. Worth a try. Tt may be cheaper this route that completed stand. Good luck.

When I saw your picture it made me think of those glass blocks you can get at home supply stores. I don't know how big they make them or if a larger size can be purchased at a glass store. I know they have some type of opening because I have seen the regular size ones filled with putpourri and small lights and tied with a big bow ad given as gifts maybe you could put several standard size ones side by side to make the size you need?

OK, as a side note, I'm thinking there is some sort of support in the middle that is hidden by the flower petals. Thats a really large block and a heavy cake so you may want to investigate that a little further before you have one made. I would hate for this to crack on you. It's beautiful cake and a great idea. I can't wait to see the finished product!
My dad made me one similar to that - but it's bigger, I use it as a display case to put cakes underneath it. Great idea to use one as a stand though, I may have to get him to make me one in that size!
He made it out of plexiglass. He just bought the supplies at Home Depot......Good luck! PS I agree with Cakerer, you might want some support in the middle of the base...
