Cakes can be baked up to 3 months inadvanced. Onced removed from the oven, cool about 10 minutes in pan; then turn out onto a cooling rack for another 10 (approx.). Now wrap in plastic wrap; then in freezer paper. If you have a plastic container that it will fit in put it in there once wrapped, but that's not totally necessary.

My method; Bake cakes up to 5 days in advance. Let your cakes cool for about 15 minutes then wrap well in plastic wrap and freeze. I do this all of the time because it makes for a more moist cake. Remove cakes from freezer and let thaw at room temperature while still wrapped in plastic. Torte fill and decorate the same day as you thaw the cakes. ![]()
