I am in on this!!!
10 lbs by Aug 25th. That's when I have to fit into my too small dress.

Scary thing is I'm leaving for Canada for a week, I have issues with eating healthy and too late in the evening while there. Come home and move, after moving camping, weekend after visitors, weekend after TN/Ohio trip. I'll just stick with chicken salads for the next 2 months and hope I'm ok.

To get to weigh in...191 up, down I don't know. I keep fluctuating between this and 189.

I really need to drink water. I think I'm doing ok, but not getting it all in.

Good luck this week ladies. I won't have much computer access so I won't be around much if at all.

I shocked the crap out of myself this morning when I weighed myself & maintained at 153 icon_eek.gif . I'm not sure how I did that since I spent the last 2 days eating brownies, cake, & movie theater popcorn. I guess all my treadmill earlier in the week paid off!

Sign me up for the 10 pound club! I need to lose it by August 12th when we're having a family dinner at a fancy restaurant and the skirt I'm wearing is a wee bit too tight. It's not obscenely tight, but too snug for comfort (although the elastic waist helps icon_rolleyes.gif )

Merissa, you are going to be our cheerleader this week so we can all re-focus and be losers again icon_biggrin.gif

Hi all. I STILL forgot to weight in this morning. I also didn't eat breakfast even though I had extra time this morning.

My cake is going to be an aircraft carrier in honor of my daughter's leaving for the Navy on Tuesday. Not a whole lot of carving, just taking the corners off to fit the fondant runway on and then tapering the sides a bit. Not much, mind you. I am glad to hear I can fill the cake while still frozen. That means I can stack it and taper it tonite and let it thaw overnight to frost tomorrow. The party is on Sunday and I haven't gotten anything done at all.

Add to that that I have one of the girls here at work leaving and need to plan some sort of party for her, too. I also want to make a scarf and hat and maybe gloves (if I can find a pattern) for her and I don't know if I have the time for that. She's leaving the Wednesday after next. I don't have time or money to lose weight!

Hope things settle down soon.

Well good luck with the cake, otter. And good luck getting everything done, try not to take on too much! I do the same thing. I am doing my first wedding cake next week and I am super nervous about it. Then I just agreed to make a baby shower cake for the same day. What was I thinking? I should know better. I think I am going to have to get up super early on Thursday and Friday and stay up late to get this all done.

Thanks for nominating me for cheerleader! I will do my best to get back into to gear this week. I have a family reunion this weekend, that will be tough.

Anyone else want to sign up for the 10 pound club? Just insert the date you hope to lose 10 pound. Just be sure it is reasonable.

For me it is August 9th or so when my DH family comes for a long weekend. I thought this was 5 weeks away, but now i realize it is 4 weeks, so that makes it a little tougher! 2.5 pounds per week. That is no easy task for me.

I will be having way too many people seeing me all day in a suit and dancing around!!! OH LORD HELP ME...AND IF I DONT LOOSE THIS WEIGHT, LORD HELP THEM! icon_rolleyes.gif

okay. So I have been thinking about this 10 pound club. What makes me think I can do it this time when I keep failing every other time? I think many if not most of us are fighting this same thing. What are we going to do about it? Can you guys help me figure this out? What is going to make me commit THIS time? So as my first order of business:

What is going to be different this time? How can we make this commitment? Suggestions? I am going to think on it and get back to you.

What's different is how bad we want this, how bad do we feel like this vs what we feel like by not eating those bad for us things or not exercising.
WE are different because we are all here doing it again!
It's different because every day is a new day and a new chance to succeed up and beyond what we did yesterday!

and because WE BELIEVE......

Ok! Sign me up for the 10 pound club! 10 by Aug 17th. No special reason for that date, it just keeps me on track.

By some miracle I managed to maintain at 175 this week. I have no idea how this happened considering how bad I've been, but I'll take it as a gift, and a nudge to keep on track.

Otter and Merissa, I'm sending happy vibes your way for all the craziness you've got going on.

okay I think maybe the small goals may help. 10 pound is a great place for us to start. I think if you can lose some weight right away, it helps to keep you motivated. So sounds like most of us have a 4-6 week goal to loose the 10 pounds. Let's do this as a group! Focus focus focus!!! Who is going to be first to get to the 10 pound finish line!!?? I want to win, but I will be cheering each and everyone on!

Here is my count for the club:

Lanibird: 165 by August 17
Merissa: 144 by August 9
Tuesday: 123 by August 4
Lisa: 143 by August 12
Casey: 180 by August 25

Anyone else? I am going to remember this spot and bring it up again in discussion when you date rolls around....beware! LOL Tuesday you are up first!

Think fast please, I just ate 3 brownies icon_redface.gif I told DH to finish them so I wouldn't eat any more, but nooooo. He doesn't feel the need to eat more than one at a time, so he only ate one and put the rest away for later. Why can't I do that?? MEN icon_mad.gif

Then he tells me he wants to try red velvet cupcakes because Paula Deen was making them this afternoon. icon_rolleyes.gif I've never had them, but they kinda seem like weak chocolate cupcakes? (don't mean to offend any who like them, I'm a chocoholic & just don't know what to expect with only a teeny bit of cocoa powder) Fortunately I don't have any buttermilk (which her recipe calls for) or cream cheese for the frosting, so that's not gonna happen. Jeez. I did have just a salad for lunch to go with my 3 brownies.

yeah I would pass on the red velvet. They sound better than they taste IMHO. It's like weakling chocolate cake if you ask me. But I have only had it once or twice so I could be wrong.

I don't care much for red velvet either, and I'm a southern girl, so I'm supposed to love it. Give me chocolate cake any day.

Sorry for my limited participation lately, work has been wiping me out and I've kind of given up on the diet because I've been so tired and busy. No more, though!! I had another injection for my back earlier this week, and it's helping this time!! So I should be able to get back to my workouts.
I'm in on the 10 lb club!!! I haven't weighed in two weeks, so I don't know specifics, but I'll weigh sometime this weekend. I want to lose 10 lbs by August 10, my 32nd birthday.

ACK!!!! So scary seeing it written down. 180 is still alot icon_cry.gif My date is so far away, I'm thinking of changing it to the 13th. I leave for TN on the 14th and don't know how good I'll be once there. But then the 13th is scary cuz it's closer but may just motivate me more....OKAY so I change mine to the 13th. Mark it down!!!

I just finished my Tae Bo and I'm off to grab some lunch, then mow the lawn. We're going to the pool tonight and taking pizza so we can eat dinner there, so I'll have to do extra laps to make up for it.
My new meds and the most recent steroid injection are REALLY helping my back, so I can finally get off the couch! Fingers crossed that it doesn't start hurting again. I'm treading a fine line between trying to get some exercise and trying not to aggravate that disc. The dr. says that everything we're doing now won't fix the disc, it will just reduce the pain and inflammation so it can heal on its own (maybe).

Oh, I forgot to mention my new long term goal...my FIL is getting married in November and it will be a rare time to see all the inlaws (most of whom don't like me). So that catty chick inside my head says, "Get this weight off so they can't talk about how fat you've gotten!!" We just all saw each other at Father's Day and I'm not the only one who's been packing on the pounds, so I guess I want to show them up.
So I want to lose about 40 lbs by November. Can I do it? OF COURSE I CAN!!!

I'll join in. I have no real reason but it might help with getting me on track a bit. How about August 22 for me.

The party went fine yesterday. Of course this weekend's eating was a bust. I didn't eat as much as I should have and what I did eat was not something good for me.

My BIL lost 60 pounds since I saw him last AT EASTER! I think he is doing better with his diabetes, too. My oldest sister said her hubby also lost a bit, but you can't even notice that. I think he needs to lose at least a hundred.

The difference in my losing the 10 pounds by August is the fact that hubby now has a decent job and I will be able to buy food that is good for me and get onto a diet to stabilize my sugar. I also have the gym membership and am losing a daughter to the Navy on Tuesday so I will be able to concentrate on myself at bit. I am making my list of things I want to do for myself once I have the time.

Lanibird, thanks so much for the good vibes. I really needed them come the weekend and nothing was done.

Glad things are looking up for you Otter (is your name Karen? I forgot..)
Glad that your party went well too!!

okay back to my cheerleader duties. So I asked what is going to be different this time? I am going to take a different approach to cheerleading this time...at the risk you will all hate me LOL! I am going to be tougher. This is now 10 pound boot camp. (funny side note. when I went to type camp, I typed cake. totally addicting to decorating and eating it LOL) I want this week and the 10 pound club to be 100% successful! We need some success!! So this morning this is a surprise inspection!!

What did everyone have for breakfast this morning? icon_confused.gif

I had egg beaters and 3 pieces of turkey bacon. I meant to only have two but there was a leftover piece. I have also had my sugar free coffee drink and a cup of tea. I filled up my water bottle today. I have not done that in a long long long time.

I had a bottle of Coke for breakfast and a fudge brownie. I know, I am so ashames. I am addicted to the Coca Cola and am finally willing to admit it. I need to find my water bottle because if I have water I will stay away from the Coke because there is something else at hand to drink.

2.50?!?! That is a good deal. Word to the wise when you make them, dont make your cupcakes very big, otherwise they dont fit very well. Learned that the hard way.

okay so I am declaring tomorrow and/or wednesday: Putting down the cake club's sugar free day. It doesnt have to be COMPLETELY sugar free, but let's do our best to stay away from the cookies and candy and yummy baked goods, regular pop and ice cream etc.

So here's the drill. I am making if for two days in case everyone doesnt see this in time for tomorrow's campaign! If you can do both days, great, if not, try for one day.

I was thinking I would weigh myself tomorrow and really lay off the sugar and carbs and drink my water and see how much of a difference I can make in 2 days by weigh in day. Who will do this with me?
