Hello fellow ccer's... I just wanted to air something... Over here where I live,,I saw a website for a bakery...So when I googled it to see how far this bakery was from my home.. I decided to make a little road trip. After I read the website and how this website posted about the great cakes, tasting etc...I thought I could drive to get a cake to bring home for my family to taste.
Well, the first trip was a bust because I couldn't even find the place according to the map and directions turn by turn thing. Once I got to the area, there was no name of this bakery on the front of the store. There was a totally different name which added to more confusion. So, when I got home I emailed this bakery to ask "where" exactly were they located, hours etc..
The very next day I made a second journey, once I found this bakery "inside" of a another store, I was saddened to see no bakery, no nothing. I only saw 3-4 fake cakes as a display. I asked if "this" person was here to speak with and was told no of course, and that this person only see's on a apt. basis.
So, what I am trying to say is if your going to do a road trip to check out a bakery that advertises of how "premiere" and great tasting cakes etc.. check it out really really good.. I don't want to name this person or the bakery because I think they already know the disappointing public they are receiving.
In the end it turned out to be a nice drive anyway with my DH along and we stopped to have lunch and saw the beautiful scenery on the way back home.
Thanks for letting me tell this........sorry to sound to long winded.........
Well, at least you had a nice drive with your DH!
That is a misleading...when I hear "bakery", I think of bakery cases with fresh goodies to eat and sample, etc.
I know there are cake places that do not have fresh cakes, though they may offer great options as far as cake flavors and quality. I think of that as more of a "cake studio" or at least something advertised as "by appointment only" and not a "bakery".
Crashdummy2,
I have my cake shop inside of a donut shop. I do have a sign out front that says for orders. You emailed them for instructions and they didn't bother to tell you that they don't keep hours?
The donut shop where I am at is open fron 5am to 11am. Then I may or may not be there based on if I am baking, decorating, etc.
I know you said you don't want to name anybody, but I would love to have a look at their website because it sounds like a similar situation to my own.
If you don't mind, you could look at mine and see if it sounds misleading to you? (Although, I have a case that sometimes has cakes you can buy, but not always.)
Anyway, thanks for the heads up....
