I thought there was a link on cc but I can't find it but here is another one. http://www.wilton.com/cake/cakeprep/baking/times/party_2inch.cfm
I usually make an 11 X 15 double layer sheet cake for that amount of people
The chart dianne posted is very accurate.
My only dissagreement might be w/the #s for a 9x13. Those servings are based on a piece cut 1"x2"x4" - not pie wedge cuts.
Another way to figure your servings is to turn your pan over (or cut out a paper tracing of each pan size) and mark off what you think is a good serving size and count those![]()
I do one 8" and one 10" round, Or one 12" round. two layers always
Thank you everyone! That is one (of my many!) stresses with cakes. I never know what sizes. I usually end up making carved cakes so have no clue about how to cut them or what sizes they are. Kakeladi I never thought of using the pan (duh!) cakeladiinri and paolacaracas thanks for telling me what you do I haven't decided if I am doing a sheet or rounds yet! diane and kakedecorator thanks! I saved those links too!
One other thing (sorry... I know this is a dreaded question but) what would you charge for something this size? It will most likely be bc with fondant accents... just curious!
