I am really feeling like I've sort of lost my touch. This has been a really difficult few months. In Aug. I came down with some nasty vertigo that is still giving me trouble. An MRI showed some weird white spots on the brain (at least I know I have one!), so we're keeping an eye on them.
I've not really felt up to baking cakes though I try to get going on some little things just to stop because the effort is a bit much. Anyways, today I decided to try again and made some cupcakes. I wanted to do a little bit of Fall on them so I molded some acorns, oak leaves and a little twisty thing.
I've really missed checking in on the site and it's good to be coming back little by little.
We are still waiting for our first grandbaby to arrive. It should be just about any day. I never thought I'd be sooooo excited about being a Grandma!
So...here are my cupcakes (thanks to all of you who answered my post on their favorite decorating method!) And thanks for all of you, your ideas and your willingness to share your talents!!

I must say, I really love your cupcake!
I've been trying to think of something to make for the kids dessert at Thanksgiving. Some are just not into pies, especially the young ones. GREAT job, and congrats on your grandchild.

Have you ever heard of Benign Positional Vertigo? Look it up under Google or WebMed search - my mom had the same thing - weird vertigo, odd looking MRI etc. I'm no doctor but it might be worth looking up!

Glad to here you are getting better. Your cupcakes are lovely. I just spent the afternoon with my Grandchildren (Boy 6 and twins((boy and girl)) age 3). I must say Grandchildren are oh so special. Even though I was exhausted and so tired from spending 9 hours decorating a cake they made me forget everything except the time we were spending together. Enjoy every second of your new Grandchild. They are truly a gift.
Thank you all so much! Austin is here and is just beautiful. 8lbs. 5ozs. 21" long. We had to postpone our trip 2 days as I caught something from one of the students I work with. We leave tomorrow. Can't wait to see him. Anyone know how to post a picture w/o breaking the rules?
