How do I add color to white fondant? I have white but I need orange! Thank you

You can use gel or liquid colors and powdered colors work.

If you use liquid, you will probably need to compensate for the extra moisture by kneading in some cornstarch or powdered sugar.

Knead it well, (gloves recommended) then let the fondant rest so the color will intensify.

This is what I do (then you will not have orange hands). I never have gloves...go figure I am a nurse. But when no gloves are available I put my fondant in a ziplock bag and add the clor to the bag, zip er up and then knead away. You might have to knead it a little out of the bag to make sure it is even, but you shouldn't turn orange at this point.

When coloring fondant I rub a little crisco on my hands. I never have gloves and since I have small hands when I do they make things more difficult for me to do things with.

The crisco keeps the color off your hands so it will wash right off your skin. icon_smile.gif
