thank you so much for this, I have so been doing this the hard way. thanks
thank you soo much. I'm working on a wedding cake right now, and I was thinking about making the cakeballs with all the leftovers. I've never made them before. Is the 3rd pic down where you add the cake?? I'm not able to see the pic very well. Just ball some cake up and put ontop of the choc? Thanks!!!
Great idea. Much better and faster than rolling and dipping. Will have to give this a try, especially with the holidays coming up.
What a neat idea! I have a ton of molds that I can try this with. I have been so used to only using them for the oreos, I never dreamed of using them for cake balls...lol.
Thanks!
Thanks ! I have tons of choc molds ! Great idea !
Spinning Leaf has some molds that I've been thinking of getting for making cake balls/truffles. I think they will give a neater appearance than dipping, which I just can't get neat enough to make me happy.
daisy114....I mix my cake with either a little bit of leftover frosting or raspberry jam...just enough to get the cake to stick together. If it's moist, even just a few drops of flavoring (like peppermint) is enough to do the trick. ![]()
I just found this thread. I attempted cakeballs last night for the first time. I did bakerella's cupcake pops. They turned out ok but I knew there had to be an easier, more clean way to do this! Thanks so much for the tutorial! I'm so much better with pics to go along! ![]()

Awesome! I've been making cake balls (I call them bonbons) with leftover cake or cupcakes that are a day or two old and get dry. I always add a tablespoon or two of coconut milk to mine, makes everything nice and moist and tastes so yummy ![]()
I have a mold similar to the one used in these pictures. Guess what I'm doing this weekend....
lol!
Wow, thank you for this. I would have never thought to use a mold.
This will definately make things much easier for Christmas gifts.
Thanks
