On this morning's news, the newscaster called somebody a "tween idol". I thought it was a twist of the tongue; but they kept using the word. What's a tween?
I always thought it was like the 10-12 group too but apparently according to my 11 year niece and 17 year old sister its mostly girls 11 to 14. not into kid things anymore not old enough for real teen stuff. there's a whole huge market out there for them its where mary kate and ashley olsen make all there money and hilary duff markets all her products and movies to this group. It been on the rise for several years now. I think its cute myslef.
I currently have TWO "tweens" in my house right now. An 11 and 12 year old...........I need therapy!

I have 15, 14, and 13 year olds...but my two oldest children have birthdays in 2 weeks so they'll be 16 & 15 (they were born a year and a day apart LOL).
Just wait, my friend...if you think it's tough now, wait til they start driving. I have never known fear or anxiety like this. 
On the upside, the time is finally here to do my daughter's dream Sweet 16 cake. 
My fellow school bus drivers & I call tweens "hormones in tennie shoes"!! 
Poor dears! But it's true. They all have their emotions on their backpacks! Both gals & guys.
