My almost 8 year old daughter announced to me today that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. I am so proud of her, my heart could burst!! We talked a lot about how long she'll have to go to college, and how she'll have to make good grades, etc, at which point she decided to be a doctor "who fixes broken bones" because "surgery is too gross." icon_rolleyes.gif LOL! I realize she may change her mind 20 times by the time she gets to college, but I am so proud of her for setting high goals for herself!! She said she wants to be a doctor so she can help people. What a sweet child!
Of course, I'm also extremely proud of my 5 year old so, who insists that he is going to be the first-ever "real" superhero when he grows up. He says his super power is a secret. icon_confused.gificon_lol.gif
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else's kids want to be when they grow up.

Sounds like you have a couple of great kids! Your son sounds like he's a blast!

My daughter is dead set on being a chef. She wants to help with every meal I make. She already has a special sandwhich that she makes for her dad. When I have extra frosting, I let her have it to practice decorating on wax paper. She is so serious about this! She even had me look up culinary schools, so she could find the best one. She's only seven!

My daughter (10) wants to be an actor... I encourage her, along with the idea that it's good to go to college anyway where she can get a degree and also work on the acting thing. I honestly believe that she'd be great at it icon_wink.gif
My son has c.p. He says he wants to be a doctor. You'd think after all the appts. and surgeries he's gone through that it'd be the last thing he'd want to do. I think he wants to help people, too. thumbs_up.gif

My 14 year old DD wants to marry a rich guy so she can shop all the day at Hollister, American Eagle and all the other stores that are so overly priced that I won't step foot in! icon_lol.gif Although she also wants to be a plastic surgeon so she can make sure she never looks old. I love hearing what kids want to be when they grow up! I wished I would have been writing them down all this time.

My 4 year old son, Xander, wants to be a surfer (we live in Missouri - good luck with that!) and when I ask my almost 3 year old son, "Colin, what are you going to be when you grow up?" he looks at me like I'm an idiot and says very simply, "Colin." Guess he doesn't understand the whole career thing and just wants to be himself!

My 8 year old wants to be a Dr. (due to the fact that he hit his head playing soccer, and diagnosed himself with a "brain injury". Turns out, he really DID have a concussion! oopps) So we of course think he is a genius. icon_wink.gif

He came to us one day and asked who makes more money...a doctor doctor or a dentist doctor, because he is going to need a lot of "stuff" when he grows up... and also he is not having kids because they spend all of your money and then you can't have stuff, and he will have a wife so he doesn't have to do laundry. HHHMMMM. I think we have a problem.

My 6 year old told me he is never going to grow up and move out because he "just loves you too much mom!" AAAWWWW, but that will not fly in your 30's!!

My 12 yr old just wants to be rich. He thinks he will be a tester for video game companies. Is that even a job???

My 13 y-o ds wants to work with Maths, he can't decide yet on what to do, but he wants it to need maths a lot.... Did I say he was a math fanatic?!?

My 11 (almost 12) y-o dd wants to be either a chef or a physiotherapists. I told her she can always do both but then she told me that either way she wants to own her own business, so she'll have to choose, but she can always be a very good cook, and have physiotherapy center icon_smile.gif

My 9 y-o ds wanted until 2 years ago, to be the next spiderman. Work at the wood company likte dad, by day, and be Spiderman at night. But a little "burst his bubble" like he said icon_lol.gif and now he doesn't know. He's so good at telling stories (you really think you're there with him) that he makes me tell him all the jobs he can do with that. He still have time....

Well...my kids don't really say...they are only 4 and 5. However, my sisters growing up had some interesting goals for themselves.

My youngest sister wanted to be a wrestler (we used to watch WWF and she was a huge Hulk Hogan fan) and a bus driver.

My other sister wanted to marry Kenny Rogers and have black babies (she was very young)...wonderful...except he's white and so is she?! Must have been planning on adopting... And he's also a little old for her!

I can't wait to see what my kids come up with....Jodie
