Hi,
I usually frost my rkt's in wither a buttercream or royal icing. If you are planning on keeping the decorations (ie- not going to eat them) I would use royal icing because it wont go bad ubder there.

Hope that helps!

I used the Rice Krispy treats on the controller of my X-Box cake (in photos) and I just covered with marshmallow fondant, no buttercream. It seemed to work fine for me. HTH

I usually ice mine smooth with buttercream and let it crust well before covering with MMF. I find that sometimes the fondant will tear if I don't get all the sharp pieces down.

I have iced mine in buttercream and then sometimes I'll just roll out the mmf alittle thicker so that the rice crispy doesn't show through
