I am considering teaching one or two classes and doing a couple of demos at the cake show in Maryland next April. I would like some input on what others would like to learn from me.
The classes will be two hours and I will have to provide the supplies, equipment, etc. I am also unsure of what to charge. I know it depends on the cost of supplies as well as the difficulty or ease of the class.
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. I forgot. I've got to figure this out and send example photos by September 1st. I just learned about this opportunity yesterday.

Well, if you lived nearer to me, I would sign up for about any class you offered.
One skill that isn't often taught in detail is string or bridge work.
I would think a detailed, 2 hour class where you provide the materials would easily be worth $50 per student as a start.
Oh gosh I would love to take any class that you taught. I would like to know how to make your pillow of flowers or a sugarflower bouquet. I think it would be so neat to make the bouquets for weddings. Every since I saw that pillow of flowers on Food Network, I have been a fan.
I, too, would sign up for any classes you offered. Are you ever invited to teach in Houston?
I have not been asked to teach classes in Houston. I think it would be cool, though. Same problem, what would I teach? My methods of decorating are somewhat different than what I was originally taught (Wilton).
I was thinking of quick flowers or tips and tricks for doing a variety of things on a budget.
The demo will probably be making fans and possibly feathers. The class could also be on making feathers. Those only take a few tools, none of which are expensive.
So....what do you think?

The classes could be on anything. If gumpaste is of most interest then I can teach that. I will definitely be doing demos on that.
Skills levels will be from beginner to whatever.
I could also teach how to make roses with chocolate leather that require no tools at all. They are very easy, set up quickly, and store beautifully. Making the leaves to go with them would only take two tools.
Ideas are slowly coming to mind. Thanks!
Michele
