I've never really done sheet cakes before. I have an 11 x 15 in sheet pan. Aside from a tiered cake to feed 100 people the customer also wants enough in plain filled sheet cakes (torted---not 2 layers) to feed 300 extra people.

How many sheets do I need and how much is the going rate for this size of a cake??? I understand that prices are different but I just want to get an idea.

Thanks so much.

Typical servings are 1x2" a half sheet 11x15 would serve about 75.

I charge $1 a serving for sheetcakes (torted) 4 cakes = $300

others charge more for 1/2 sheets.

A single layer 11 x 15 serves 35 cut into 2"x2"x2" party style pieces. You'd need 8 1/2 to serve another 300 people! I charge $1.50 per serving for sheet cakes. 9 x 35 x $1.50 = $472.50
