I'm "face" challenged....I've noticed some of our members do exquisite work with faces and eyes...any of them willing to do a tutorial to show the rest of us how it is done??

Size of brushes..how to get those glorious expressions??

Please???

Please???

Do we have an emote for begging?

i have always been a bit challenged when it came to a paint brush so i decided to try a different technique for faces.. what i do is draw mine on with non toxic gel pens, i find i can get better lines plus if you stuff it up it wipes off easy so you can start again..

the only thing i suggest is to let your head dry enough so that the pens dont indent the fondant when you start drawing, i also practiced on paper first until i found the style of face i was wanting....

here is my latest figure using the gel pens to draw the face on...

hope this helps!!!

cheers

Hmmm I made a shrek cake last weekend and I winged it. This was the first time I made eyes that size. I painted the eyes with gel colors mixed with a bit of vanilla extract.

Here is the link to the cake I did.

Julie, most newsagents have them, you can buy them either as a set of colors or individually. any shops that sell school supplies should have them aswell...

cheers
