I really want to make these for a party I have tomorrow. Can anyone tell me how to make this type of cake ball and also what type of pan to use for the cake part? Seems like a regular cupcake pan would be too small on the bottom part. Help!

cupcakes! cut in half.

then take, chocolate cake and cut out for hamburger --- or for more decadent brownies and smooshed cake balls work too.

Chocolate rice krispie treats work for hamburgers, too.

I know it's past the time you wanted to make these, but just for the future.....I would think that a 6 oz. tuna can (sterilized in the dishwasher of course) would be the ideal size for a "hamburger bun". What do you think???

Seems like they used the oversized muffin pan.

The buns look exaclty like when I use my 3 inch (?) springform pans. They dome when baking. Cut them in half and it looks like a bun. Brownies in the middle sound yummy!!

Yes I think an oversized muffin pan. Mine is about 3 inches and looks alot like these buns when I make yellow cake.

They look like regular sized cupcakes to me, baked without the liner. It looks like they are shallow, or maybe only filled 1/2 full with batter for a shorter cupcake. That makes it more bun-like.

Standard size cupcakes are tapered. The base is smaller than the top. These appear to be more of a cylindrical shape.

Take a look at this ans you will see what I mean.

Are the top and bottom 'buns' just the tops off of cupcakes ... (obviously the rest is all for you!!)? I second the choc cake/brownie idea. Fondant cheese & buttercream sauce & tomatoes?
