I haven't had that experience, but I'm trying to think of ideas for you...

Could it be your cake icing is soft? Could you firm it a bit in the refrigerator or freezer so it can support your flowers?

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

She's left the comp for a bit to work on it some more so I'll answer for her lol... they are BC flowers she made them over the last week so they are already dry and what seems to be happening is when she applies the fresh/wet butter cream to the cake to add a dot for the flower to sit on, it slides off. If she presses it on a little it breaks in two... I'm at a loss I don't know whatelse to suggest for her to try lol. I was hoping yall great CC'ers could help her so I'm bumping her posts up for her lol don't get mad people please lol

Editted to say see there ya go makin me a lier icon_razz.gif I thought you were gone lol

Perhaps she should break the "crust" on her cake. That is the way I got my flowers to stay on! I used BC to attach many, many, roses on a cake. This worked for me.

p.s. I used a toothpick to break the crust at the point I wanted to attach the flower - then I had fresh to fresh icing.

Totally brainstorming here.......

Try this to ONE of your BC flowers....just to see if it would work (and if it doesn't, you've only lost one flower)......

After you pull the flower off the waxed paper, dip your finger into water *shake off excess* and gently "wet" the back of the BC flower with your finger.....or maybe even use a tiny paint brush to do this. Maybe if there is a little "moisture" to the back of the flower, it will "grab hold" of the buttercream dot and stay on the side of the cake.

Let me know if it doesn't work and I will try to think more.......

I'm not sure if I can be much help, but I'll try.
When I make roses from Buttercream which I just put some in the freezer now and when I'm ready to take them off my wax paper i use my angled spatula to take off and put them on my cake.

Good Luck,
Stacy

I think it looks great! It looks like the flowers stayed on... I hope they will stay on. I can't wait to see the finished product. Please post when you finish.

I think your cake looks great! thumbs_up.gif

My suggestion to you would be for next time, if you have time to make the flowers ahead of time, make them out of Royal Icing instead of buttercream. They will be a little sturdier than the BC ones when attaching them to the cake.

I also think it turned out great! I can't believe those are bc flowers! How do you make BC dry? I thought you had to do RI to do flowers like that!
