Do nondecorated cakes need to be refridgerated??

It only depends on the ingredients in the icing and/or filling. Recipes that include fresh fruit and dairy products generally should be refrigerated.

Also, in warm humid climates, refrigeration will help prevent mold.

it also depends upon time they will be out as they will dry out

slap some plastic wrap on it to preserve freshness and stash in fridge or even freezer.


(now of course, if you PLAN to eat a plain cake relatively soon after making, then can sit out)
