I got my first request for a price on my cakes--the 2 bridal one (or something like that), i just don't know what to tell them--i live in a small town, no one around here really does cakes anymore (besides the grocery store) but even at that i'm not sure if they would pay what i think is a far price...please help a girl out...thanks



BTW--the cakes are in my photos...

Not sure which photo you are referring to, but usually I charge $2 per serving if it's buttercream. If fondant, $3. Of course, I don't have much business. But around here, that's the norm.

I like the idea of quoting a per serving price... it softens the blow a bit icon_lol.gif

Also, I wouldn't do one for so cheap that you undercut yourself or you will feel terrible OR everyone will come and want your awesome cake for peanuts! icon_sad.gif

oh yeah they are 9in & 6in---i don't even know how many servings that is--& the way i cut them at the shower---well....

I can't imagine charging less than $50 for a cake that looks that good in those sizes.

In my opinion ( please don't take offense) you are seriously smokin' the good stuff if you charge less than $70 - $80 icon_lol.gif

That cake is beautiful and it is stacked.... and the flowers on the side, are they fondant?? I just put it in my favorites - it is sooooo pretty!

I would also say 50.00 at the least because of the fondant flowers. As for the 3 of servings I have a link that may help you out a bit.
