Just popping in to tell everyone hello and that I have missed you guys. In case anyone is worried, I am fine, baby is fine (so far!) but I have been extremely sick with morning (all day) sickness. No complaints though, my doc thinks that is actually a good sign for my little person-to-be. I am a little confused about where everyone is (which site) but just wanted to update you all. Hope everyone is doing well and baking her butt off. icon_smile.gif

INHW stands for the original thread that was started: I Now Hate Wilton Fondant. A bunch of us kept posting, became friends and chatted about everything under the son and we knicknamed ourselves the Wilton Fondant Haters Club (WFHC). We got kicked off the the other thread because we were now, 400 pages later, getting off-topic. So Heath made us start a new thread and this one was born. Welcome!

Oh my... how funny is that!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif What a cool thread! I too am a Wilton Fondant Hater... Thanks for the explanation and warm welcome thumbs_up.gif

Now... since it is a "anything under the sun" kindda thread... does any one have good tips on how to get a 4 year old stop biting his nails? It is driving me crazy and I've tried it all! Bribe, time out, no more chuck e. cheese, over the counter nail biting medication, band aids on all 10 fingers (I know... icon_confused.gif somebody call child services... icon_lol.gif ) you name it! Stubburn little kid! Has anybody been thru this? And worst thing, he does it with out even noticing he is doing it! icon_mad.gif

Not sure about nail biting. My BF since grade school has always bitten her nails, still does to this day and she will be 32 in Sept. I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear though. I'm sorry.

Nope, I don't bite my nails, neither does DH!! And why didn't I think about gloves??? OK, I'm in FL, it is 100 degrees and humidity is awful but really, if wearing gloves will make him stop biting his nails I'll make him wear some! icon_evil.gif Now, where do I find gloves in the middle of August??? icon_confused.gif

Anyway, thanks so much, hope he does not keep this bad habit any longer, they are getting really bad as of now...

My kids were nail rippers. I have NEVER (okay, when they were babies I did) cut my kids nails. They have always ripped them off. I tried everything like you. They are now 16 and 14 (next week) and are still ripping. I wish they would stop; they just look gross!

Beauty stores carry the lightweight cotton gloves (for those of us with sensitive skin and need to keep lotion on them at night). Look into those. OR have you tried treats?? Every day that he goes through not biting them, he gets like a favorite treat?? Just a thought....I'm a bad mom too cause mine still rip. icon_cry.gif

Martha - That is going to be one COOL pool (no pun intended! icon_wink.gif )! I can't wait to see the finished product! Too bad it's not done for summer fun, but at least it hasn't been TOO bad this summer! Or at least it hasn't been bad in Fresno.

I tried treats and taking things away from him... really, he cries when does not get them (and I don't give, really) and after a while, he is OK and could care less for those treats. I will go to a beauty supply and check those gloves, hope they have small ones... thanks for the idea!

not sure if this will work but i did this when my son wouldnt stop sucking his finger. i got a garlic clove and cut it open and rubbed it all over his favorite finger he sucked heheheheh didnt like the taste so he stopped. i would suggest rubbing the heck outta his nails and make sure to get underneath so he taste the gaflic as soon as his nail gets in that mouth

That's a good idea. Luckily, DS hasn't done this yet, he's too busy grabbing other body parts everytime his diaper is off--any advice on how to handle THAT?!?! icon_redface.gif We had a seriously bad potty traning session last month and this month I hope to try again. I think I gave my son "potty nightmatres". I am such a bad mommy. thumbsdown.gif

"potty nightmares" that is too funny, I think we all gave your boys some of those! So how old is he??
We had the hardest time potty training our boy and am embarassed to admit but he wasn't fully potty trained until he turned 3, I know.... a little late. Anyway, we never had the problem of "grabbing" but I would assume that it is a normal, before when they wear diapers they don't realize what they have but now with the underwear thing the have the access to it and it is NEW to them. I'm sure he will outgrow that, don't worry too much! Boys ha!
(I wish I had a little more advise for you... sorry)

Hi Sweets!

My ds is 20 mths. He is constantly grabbing himself. Its totally normal and I'm not sure there is much to do about it. When he gets older I will just tell him its something to do in private. If he wants to have his hands in his pants, I'll remind him its a private thing and to go to his room.

As for the cake...does your dn nursery have a theme? Maybe you could match it.

Hi Nefgaby!

I think Roxxx gave you a good idea. Garlic sounds like a plan. Let us know how it goes. Your ds is so cute!
