Have you made any other kind besides the MMF?

I just made a batch of pastillage and it was so easy it got me thinking about making my own fondant instead of shelling out the big bucks for Satin Ice (which I love). I know a lot of y'all swear by the MMF, but I was wondering if there are any other good fondant recipes out there (so I can make several different ones and find the one I like best). I'd like be able to make something that comes out tasting like the Satin Ice and with the same workability.

I use Toba Garrett's fondant recipe. I absolutely love it and use it often now. I love the taste, the texture the workability. I love that it is not expensive.

Most decorating books include fondant recipes. The Cake Bible has them, the chocolate is wonderful. I use the recipe called rolling fondant from Jacques Torres found at foodnetwork.com

I use Michelle Foster's fondant. The recipe is here on the site. It has more steps than mmf, but is still very easy to make, and much less messy. It tastes wonderful too!

I used to use Collette Peters recipe until I just got tired of making it. Also, DH was grossed out by me coming to bed smelling like sugar and gelatin. icon_lol.gif

I really like Rhonda's Ultimate MMF. Slightly citrus-ey, but not TOO much. I've used it on chocolate and red velvet cakes and it didn't taste citrus-ey at all with those flavors.
