Ok, checked it out, but now I'm mad!! I just posted a wedding cake I did today, and it got bumped off in 3 seconds because someone is posting a ton of patterns at one time!! GRRRR!!! I forgive, though, just because it's Doug.

Anyway, that is a neat feature. I'd love to see some neat embroidery patterns posted here.

Ummmm...I guess I'm a little slow, but what are they used for? I guess us cookie bakers should stay away from cakes! Can someone explain what these are? Thanks. icon_smile.gif

Ok, now he is posting shoes...I'm nearly afraid to ask what is next! icon_wink.gif Doug, keep it clean, buddy!!!

Cookiez, they are used to help sculpture cakes, or pipe patterns onto cakes. Sometimes they are used for fondant work. It just depends.

Like cookiesandcake

I'm confused about all those templates. They look like sketches of different shapes of cake. What are they for? I know you said sculpting, but I don't get it either. Are these something we will refer to often??

I am a newbie to the cake world myself. I, too, am like mommy from the west... what are these templates for? I am totally confused??? The one explanation that was given totally lost me - how does the templates help with working with fondant???

Come someone give us a detailed explanation - DOUG???? Are they for when you are making your drawings out so that you can see your idea come to life and you get one of these and instead of having to draw out your cake everytime - you use the template - and just had the detail work???

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP WITH US "SPECIAL" PEOPLE - GO NEWBIES!!!! GOD BLESS THE PROS THAT ARE WILLING TO HELP US icon_biggrin.gif

BINGO!!!!!! -- give her a....a.....a .....a......a....

Cake Ball!

yes, they are for the "drawing challenged" (like a certain someone ::cough, cough:: icon_rolleyes.gif ) who would like to just have to do the details of the cake (roses, swags, ropes, borders, colors, etc.) and not have to worry about how to actually get the shape of the cake itself!

enjoy!

Doug we love you, but man ya gotta get a life icon_lol.gif Seriously thanks! These will come in handy!

If you have a consult with a bride or any client really -take your template and a box of colored pencils- you can design it as you talk-copy it and you both stay on the same page. icon_wink.gif

Oh! So did Doug draw these himself or are they from some sort of computer program or book, or??

Hadn't noticed until just now when I saw this post!

What a great idea! Thanks Doug for the great templates...I have a few of these made out myself. I use mine mostly for my own reference, but I also sketch out cakes for my brides as we brainstorm during consultations. I had not thought, up until this very moment, of having them preprinted to simply sketch the decorations on and save the time of drawing!

Also, the petal, heart, oval and hex shapes are difficult to sketch with such precision! Great Job! thumbs_up.gif

I drew them all myself.

And if you doubt that I have the original files in MS Publisher I can send to prove it!

The insturctions for the gallery clearly state they must be drawn by the user submitting them

OK Doug....next for you....pair up with a software company to make a software program for us! You know....you could go in and pick your shape and number of servings, number of tiers and then it would come up with possible sizes. THEN....just click and drag swags, roses, dot, whatever into place. Then color whatever you want!

Call Bill Gates NOW!

Thanks so much Doug!
