How do you get redredred icing? I am making The Wiggles Big Red Car this weekend and my icing is giving me fits. Do I need to use a ton of it or is there a secret??

Start with a soft brown or a dark pink first. You can also add a touch of burgandy at the end. Just be sure to let it sit and change color before deciding if you are done mixing. I usually just put a small smear on a plate and leave it in the air for about 10 minutes.

Americolor super red is the way to go. I used it on my birthday cake, it's the red - white and blue cake in my photos. You don't have to use much. Good luck on the car and don't forget to post a pic.

if you are using Wilton you may Literally need to use an entire jar (hopefully using "tasteless red". also, your color will darken with time so it might help to let it sit for a while.

I have to agree here. I just end up using a ton of this stuff. It does work, but it's A LOT of color to add. I would try some of the Americolor. Haven't tried it myself, but if others swear by it, then I would go with that. Good luck.

I used Americolor Super Red with a touch of Wiltons Burgundy for the wiggles car I did in my photos.
