I successfully completed my first real wedding cake! With no major problems! I am quite pleased with the final result and want to thank many of you for the last minute tips to get me through!

This was a cake for 200. The color of the ribbon in the picture isn't accurate, it was not quite so dark. I wound up having to put the flowers on myself, which I wasn't expecting, so it doesn't look quite perfect, but oh well...live and learn.

I am so excited to finally have this under my belt. It was a lot of work and I'll definitely charge more for the next one though!

I'd love your feedback. By the way, the cake wasn't leaning, although it looks that way from some of the pics I took.

I just got finished posting comments in the gallery but I'll say it again, this is a really gorgeous cake and you should be extremely proud. 200 is quite an undertaking for a first-time wedding cake! This will definitely get you referrals!

Thanks for all the positive comments! The bride just stopped by to return the cake plate and said that everyone raved about the cake and how it tasted and that it was exactly what she had wanted. She even told me to keep the equipment deposit. I was very touched. It was so gratifying to know all my work was appreciated...and that i tasted good! I always get scared something could have gone wrong!! icon_smile.gif
