Does anyone know anything about spider bites and what to do....I didnt see the spider that bit me....I think I got it digging fishing poles out of the closet!!

i'd get to a doctor ASAP...

could be you were bitten by a brown recluse spider...which love to hide in dark places out of sight.

their bites can be especially nasty and get very bad if not treated promptly.

My DH was bit by a spider last October. I tried to take him to the doctors right away but you know how guys can be. After a couple of days his symptoms kept getting worse...he was swollen...had a rash all over his body and began having pain in his groin. We went to the hospital and found out that he had an infection in his foot on top of the spider bite. They gave him some pain killers and some antibiotics and he is fine now. I wish we had saved ourselves the worry and just gone to the hospital or doctors right away. If you have no way of knowing what bit you I would just go to the hospital to be safe. You can pm me the pic if you want but I would just go if I were you.

My sister and I have been bitten several times by spiders. For us they swallon a little bit but we did not go to the doctor. In a few days it went away. No big worry. But we also do not live in an area of pionous spiders so I guess that might make a difference. If I were you I wait it out, If it swells more that a fifty cent peice get to the doctor. Otherwise I would not worry about it.

You could try soaking your finger in a baking soda solution...this might help draw out the poisen...this works really good on mosquito bites!

does this really work? I have so got to try this- i hate skeeters.

I hope the doctor goes well today, we have brown recluse and wolf spiders in our neighborhood and have seen them outside, but thankfully haven't had any problems yet. I have to spray for spiders almost once a month to try and keep them away. This house is the only place we have ever seen this problem... can't wait to move!

It worked on my son...he was 2 or 3 years old when he got bit up really bad when we were at my SIL's old house for a party. We made him take a bath with baking soda in it. You make like a baking soda paste for just one or two bites. Baking soda acts as neutralizer...works good too if you spilled anitfreeze or you got a small amount of battery acid on yourself. (Just ask my hubby!)

Just read this & had to comment.. You should go to the dr! Living in the South we have bug bites all the time. Spiders leave a weird bite mark. It looks nothing like any other bite. I'd recommend you go to the dr but before you do circle the bite with an ink pen. If it swells up past the circle mark then go to the ER. Don't fool around with poisonous bites!! I'm a vol. Firefighter/EMS & we get calls for bug bites all the time. We circle the bite with an ink pen & tell the patient to monitior the bite. If it gets worse we tell them go to the ER or call us back & we will take you there. Take care & I hope it's nothing major~
