Hi there. I need to make a 3-D soccer ball cake for a friend of a friend. Can anyone tell me how to make black icing that won't turn all the guests teeth and tongues black?! Or does Wilton sell a pre-made one that is "stain-free"?! Thanks in advance. icon_smile.gif

Because with dark colors you need to much its impossible to say it wont stain your mouth. The best way to get black is to start with brown. Use a chocolate recipefor icing using dark chocolate and then make the brown black. This will reduce the amount of black color needed. Also let your icing sit over night because it will darken with time.

Almost anytime you add color, it is going to stain your mouth, especially black and blue.
