are impression mats easy to use. Do you just put them around your cake and press. Are they pretty flexible.

i absolutely adore them. there is somewhat of a learning curve-knowing when to use them and when NOT to.....the buttercream must have crusted SOME (enough so that they don't stick to the mat) but not so much that it won't take an impression.
once you figure this timing out, they are fabulous.
yes, they are quite flexible.
just don't try to wash them in the dishwasher, they will melt.

hope this helps,
sally

impression mats are awesome, they make things that took a couple minutes look like a couple of hours. they make things so much easier and you get that professional look in no time, i love mine. you do need to have a good crusting buttercream tho and it does take some learning on how hard to push without pulling off all your icing icon_razz.gif
They're great with fondant too.
I definitely think mine were a good investment.

They can even be used on non-crusting buttercream. Just refrigerate or freeze until the icing is hard and the impression mat works great.
