I'm making a birthday cake for my cousin. She'll be 15, and she's a real girly girl. She loves purses, but I don't really want to make a purse, though I've considered it.

I want to make something really special and really cool. But I'm drawing a blank. I'd love to take a stab at a stacked cake of some sort, but I don't know.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Just a thought, but what if you did a stacked cake with small fondant purses here and there and maybe a larger one for the topper?

I love making these for girls, you can put it on top of a stacked cake if you want and vary the colours

Hi Ya'll,

15 years old! Wow what a hard age.

My idea--Simple tiered cake in her favorite colors with lots of multicolored flowers.

Or to tease her a first birthday cake theme with the 1 on the opposite side from the 5.

Have a great day!

tschamberlain and bouncyboing are on the right track. Go with that and use lots of pink. Girly girls love pink. I know I do and so do my daughters.

Good Luck and don't forget to post the finished cake.

I asked my daughter and her friend who are 13 & 15. They said a stacked cake with small fondant purses & high heels would be great. Lots of pink.

What about a stacked cake with pinks and a royal icing tiara on top. I know that there are tiara patterns floating around somewhere on here.

Here is a cake that I had saved. I thought at the time that it would be perfect for a teenage girl's birthday. It is so simple but very girly!

I think I've decided on doing a 2 tiered stacked cake. I'll do the bottom cake in lavender and the top cake in pink. I have 8 inch pans already, could I do 8 inch and 6 inch? I don't want to have a TON of cake left over. Or should I invest in 10 inch pans, and do 10 inch and 6 inch?

I think I'm going to do dot borders around the bottoms of both cakes and write Happy Birthday Jessica on the sides. I was thinking of making a J out of candy melts and having that be the topper of the cake.

Does that sound like something that a 15 yo would think was cute?

Thanks!

Jamie, that sounds really cute to me. 15 yo girls are so into themselves most of the time anyway.. when I was 15 I would have LOVED to have my initial on top of a cke.. I may have to do that for my birthday LOL
