Hello friends.

Not much to report here. We power washed the house on Sunday afternoon. That was quite a job. It is hot here again. It will be 91 here again today. I had to turn the air back on. I wasn't going to but the upstairs got so hot. I cleaned and did laundry all day yesterday. Today DD has an appointment and I have a few little errands to take care of. Wow, what an exciting life I live. icon_confused.gif

Last night I grilled chicken breasts, and grilled slices of onion and peppers, also made spanish rice, and peas.

I may grill steaks out tonight. Just not sure yet. I need to check the weather to see if rain is coming in this afternoon or later.

Melissa I hope you are feeling better.

Kay, I wish I was near you, I'd put stuff out and we'd have a huge sale.
I hope you are very successful with your sale.

Christi, sounds like your living the same exciting life I am. Hang in there.
Your chicken salad sounds great.

leily....where are you. I know your busy with school and work and house hunting... when you get a chance check in.

Hope every one has a great day today. thumbs_up.gif

Chicken salad today again for supper to good to waste.

Hope DH is in a better mood he sure has been a grumpy ole bear lately!!

Melissa wanna come over and powerwash our siding? I just noticed coming home the other day our yellow siding on the side is getting a green film on it GRRRR..... powerwashed our front porch not to long ago and it is already needing it again!

Kay breakfast is always yummy for any time of the day. If my dh had anything to do with it we would be having biscuits and gravy everyday of the week!

Everybody else hope to see you back at the table soon icon_smile.gif

Everybody have a great day hope all is well icon_smile.gif

(Gonna be hot here AGAIN today 95!!!!) SUPPOSED TO BE FALL DARNIT!!!!!!!!

Mewie....some very yummy sounding food.

Christi....how is the cake coming? Sounds like a great cake. I can't wait to see the picture.

Tonight was grilled steak, twice baked potatoes with bacon and cheese(for the family not for me) and green beans and french bread.

Hope all are fine.

Tonight was egg and cheese sandwiches with sliced fruit. The kids had scrambled eggs with toast.
I ate a single serve bag of chex mix for dinner--all I've ate today, still don't feel good but I feel a little better everyday so that's a plus.

Glad to see you all are doing well. Ohara--powerwashing can get hard on the body can't it? icon_wink.gif I was sore after doing it for a few hours.

Kay--wish I lived closer too, I have lots to get rid off
Mewie-food sounds good
Christi-good luck with the cake.

Oh yes it can be hard on a body.... the power sprayer didn't reach as high as I would have liked, and there was green stuff growing on the north side of the house. So I had the idea that I would take my scrub brush on an extension pole upstairs, and hang out of the guest room window and get the spots we couldn't reach from the ground. Then DH thought maybe I could lower the extension pole low enough for him to loop the power sprayer onto it, then I could use the power sprayer while hanging out of the second story window icon_confused.gif It did work. However it took muscles in unusual places to keep me inside the widow. thumbs_up.gif and yes I did get the green off.

Ok so I am proud to say that I made homemade fettuccine tonight. I mean I have a pasta machine, but of course it has been used for more pressing things. icon_lol.gif It was so easy and so good! I made homemade alfredo sauce to top it. I also made bacon wrapped beef tenderloin. And for dessert a Boston cream pie with chocolate ganache. I don't even want to think of the calories and fat, but it was for my mom's birthday dinner. icon_biggrin.gif

Feeling MUCH better today!!! Still a little sick but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Ohara--go soak those sore muscles in a tub. (I'm not even going to begin to yell at you about risking yourself hanging out of a window!)

Welcome back maryjsgirl!

Christi--are you feeling good still and able to eat?

Tonight was seasoned sauted chicken over salad with cheese, acorn squash with butter and brown sugar, madarin oranges, corn and then vanilla ice cream cones. (sound odd I know but with this many people in my family no one will ever all eat the same thing so sometimes I make items just so I know that the person will eat.)
I've been stopping at local farm stands so I can get the last veggies for the season *sigh* I love fresh items!

Sounds delicious Melissa, and YES I have been able to eat lol...a little TOOOOO much lol. I to love the fresh veggies, we grow a big garden every year. We are all out though icon_sad.gif . And I have been dying for a home grown tomato (was so sick of them earlier this season icon_sad.gif )

Mom called earlier and said "We need to start planning our Thanksgiving dinner!" OHHHH MY, I can't even believe it's getting closer icon_smile.gif

I love fall...I wish it would cool down and feel like it!

Anybody doing any special decorating for Halloween? Or special treats for fall festivals at kiddos schools?

Well gonna run...gotta put the rub on my butt to smoke tomorrow icon_wink.gif LOL <---------I know that sounded bad...boston butt!

Melissa....so glad you are starting to feel better. I also love the fresh veggies. I am so bummed that they are almost gone.

Christi....glad you are well enough to eat still. I cook the same food each year for Thanksgiving so not much thought has to go into it.
I will decorate the house and outside for fall. I don't really do Halloween decorations. We do Halloween, just not the "ugly" decorations.

maryjsgirl....your dinner sounds great. Good for you, making your own pasta.

Kay.....your seat is noticeably empty. Hope you have time to pull up your chair tonight icon_wink.gif

Tonight I made chicken parmesan, spaghetti, sweet corn, garlic bread. ( I had plain chicken, corn and cottage cheese).

Sorry I have been MIA this last week and a half. I haven't had a chance to catch up on what everyone is doing but I will try to soon.

Last week i got an order for 5doz 4" decorated sugar cookies (all footballs) for a homecoming game this week so i was working on those, along with another smaller cookie order. Also had to get some quotes out for an annual christmas store that will be looking for things in Nov.

Oh and on Monday I had a test for my class for our state craft championships. We have a written test and then a hands on test (in nov) so I was studying for that too... OH and a lot of other stuff but I won't make you all bored.

For dinner last night we ordered in pizza (Had to finish those cookies) tonight... I finished the left overs from pizza and am relaxing as I had a massage and a chiro appt this afternoon so I am feeling pretty good now!

Sorry I have been gone... I have been baking for the garage sale/bake sale/arts and craft sale......

Alot of stuff to do so little time LOL

I baked choc. chip and sugar cookies, brownies, pumpkin cupcakes.... And a cake I have do this weekend also.. I will decorate it tomorrow night...Tonight I am going to make peanutbutter cookies and apple spice cupcakes.

I am doing the bake sale to raise some money for DD dance uniform. It is $75 they replace them every 2 years but DD needs one every year because she is the odd class What I mean is that the have 2 grades together 2nd and 3rd. She is in 3rd and this year they are all getting new ones.. And next year she goes up to the next level and a different outfit again. Next year I maybe able to get a used one cheaper. But it stinks she needs a new one every year..

And my whole family (mom, stepdad, DH and myself and a niece all make arts and crafts.. So I decided to put it in the paper as well.. People will be looking for X-Mas gifts soon and our craft shows start in about 3 weeks.. So trying to get a head start..

And then I have some avon and my Mia Bella candles at a discount Cause this is the start of candle season YYYAAAA

Then of course our junk LOL

Ok enough of my drama

Last night we had left over meatloaf and fixins from the night before.. And I made DH and myself Roast Beef sandwhich for when he got home..

Tonight was frozen fish and fries..

I have no idea what I am going to make for DH tonight or what we will have tomorrow.. Everything I bought to make is cold weather foods and it is warming up again... We are going to get back into th 80's this weekend good for my garage sale as long as the rain hold off till Sat. night..

So I maybe gone for a few more days.. I will try to stop in between everything.... Later Kay

welcome back to the table leily and kay! We missed you!

I'm feeling much better today! Almost back to normal (if I've ever been normal icon_lol.gif ) Between my kids school work and mine, I think I'm going crazy. Hours every day are dedicated to homework. BLAH!

Tonight will be something easy like breakfast food or soup and sandwiches because we are on such a time crunch.

Kay-I took dance for about 13 seasons and competed across the US. Those costumes get pricey!!!!! One of my costumes almost 15 years ago was 180 dollars. YIKES! I'd choke if I had to pay for costumes now a days.

Leily- good luck on your test!
DH and I are arguing again--MEN icon_rolleyes.gif oh well, poop happens-in a few days everything will be back to normal.

A big hello to all my table friends. We had rain here today as well. We really needed it.
Soccer practice was canceled. I was so happy about that thumbs_up.gif

Tonight I made a smoked sausage(turkey), potato, and sauerkraut one pot recipe. (It is low fat and low in calories) I also made cornbread. First time I made it. DH liked it, said I can make it again. That's always a good sign. It was good for me because it was something different I can eat while on a diet. I have now lost 16lbs. DH and I leave in 5 weeks for our vacation. Hoping to lose more by then icon_wink.gif

Hope everyone had a good day.

Welcome back Monilynn!
Christi-the brisket sounds awesome.
How was the sale Kay?
Mewie--What kind of chef is your daughter? Chef/pastry chef and what kind of job does she do? Just wondering because I'm trying to decide what field to do. I was wanting do do culinary education but it looks like schooling will be impossible for me to find. No one near me offers the education part. So I'm looking for a another possible path to take.

Tonight was spaghetti for the kids and popcicles. DH is having Pasta with chicken-sundried tomatoes-basil-oregeno-cracked black pepper-and cheese tossed in olive oil. I made a cherry pie with struedel topping and banana nut breads today also.

Hi Everyone-
Hope everyone's weekend was good.

Melissa- My daughter Kate is a certified culianian with the ACF. She received her associate degree in culinary arts from SUNY Delhi in New York State, and is now hopefully in her last year of her BS in Hotel/Restaurant Mgt. On top of that, she is a full time line chef at a Tapas wine bar and restaurant named Vin Santos in Latham NY. She was lucky enough to be part of the competition class at Delhi which won the NYS championship in 2005. Although its a long and difficult road, nothing or no one could ever have given her the work ethic and disipline she has garnered from all this and the wonderful chefs that taught her. She started a small cake business right out of school and thats how we ended up on CC. Don't give up on your dreams, doors open sometimes when you least expect it. I wish you all the best.

Saturday Night took the two daughters out and had a patty melt at Friendly's
Sunday was family dinner-made a vast amount of Lasagna and salad, pie for dessert.

Hope everyone is well
Talk to you soon!

I had an ACF meeting tonight on a boat going down the Maumee river for 2 hours. Yep, a little chilly and raining but still a great time. We had Contessa Shrimp Co. as our host tonight so guess what we had to eat? Chicken, just kidding!!!!!! It was shrimp of course. There was HUGE shrimp for dipping in cocktail sauce. Garlic butter shrimp and also cajun shrimp in a cajun risotto. There was also different cheeses, deli meats to sample. Dessert was chocolate brownie cake covered in icing with chocolate shavings, cream puffs, chocolate covered eclairs and cream puffs and lemon cheese graham squares. YUM! Did I fail to mention that I do NOT eat shrimp! I did eat 2 pieces though with the meat and cheese plus desserts. (The risotto was perfect!)
I did eat a buttered bagel before leaving though since I know shrimp isn't my thing.

I did some more networking there and things went well. I will be job shadowing a female chef soon. She is a culinary educator for some teens (in a vocational school/skilled trade setting) and also some special needs students. Which is just what I want to do if able. So she's trying to help me out as far as where to go fo this area.

That's so cool about your daughter Mewie! It's a very hard field to be in and she seems to be doing great at it.
Glad to hear the kids are better Monilynn.
Just got an email from Kay that her computer is on the fritz so it may be a lil' bit before she's back at the table.

Melissa....your evening sounds great. I don't really care for shrimp either. One or two would do me as well.

Kay...hoping you get your computer working today. Can't wait to hear about your sale this past weekend.

Mewie...yum, patty melts are one of my favorites. I like when they get the bread grilled so it's crunchy.

Monilynn...glad to hear your kids are better. I have never tried the bisquick recipe before. Your tweeking sounds good.

Christi.....what CC party? The only ones I have read posts about are regional ones. I would be interested if it was in an area I could get to. Your quilt cakes are awesome. You should be proud.

Last night was a chicken salad for me. Yes, still dieting. DH and DD had McDonalds. DH had made those plans so I cooked for me. I have no idea what is for dinner tonight. I am so bored with food.

Hope you all have a great day.
