Tonight was my son Trent's birthday party. We had chesse pizza. pepperoni pizza, sausage and bacon pizza, ham and pineapple pizza, cheese and crackers, veggie with dip tray, cake (white cake and chocolate with oreo filling) bryers ice cream (oreo and vanilla) and decorated cookies with mmf....and no I did not eat everything that was available.
Hey guys. Last night (I babysat) so it was spaghetti. Babysat again tonight so they had fish patties, mac-n- cheese. And I have a roast in the crockpot for French Dips. And it is smelling so YUMMY.
You gotta love family. Last night my Sister called and said "Hey do you have any cake laying around" She had forgotten to ask me to make her a cake for here DD B-Day. Which was today 
So last night after she asked me at 8pm. I started baking and mixing icing. But got it done by 4:30 this morning. Man was it a long day today on only 2 hours sleep. I am tired but here I am and CC.
But on a good note. One of the other cakes I just did for a friend (for her DH) . I just made it for him just because. They are real great friends and he has cancer. And she called me tonight to thank me. He was so Happy 
It was just her and her DH and their puppy and they ate half of an Applespice cake with cream cheese frosting in a half hour . Any way to the point. She knows we are having car problems and are basically without a car. She has 2 cars and is going out of town for a few days. Guess what she offered me HER CAR 
She said it is just sitting in the garage. I may as well use it. Just replace the gas I use. Man I love her SO MUCH. And all because I was just being thoughtful for a birthday. So the moral of the story we all know Do good deeds and good things will happen to you. She had tried to pay me for the cake and I told her no it was a gift.

Put roast in crockpot. Pour a can of French onion soup by cambells, a can of beef stock, and a can of beer (I use BUD) Cook on low for at least 7 hrs. It is OMG I try to put them on earthgrain wheat rolls if I can get them. But most any hoagie will do. TRUST ME OMG they are GREAT. Then dip in the drippings. For Dh I put some BBQ sauce on them he don't like to dip. And they are still GREAT I got the recipe from allrecipes.com If you try it let me know what you think. I THINK THEY ARE AWESOME Good Luck on the Dips
What kind of roast? How big for that amount of liquid? Can you freeze the leftovers? Tell me more! I'm SO making this next week!
Hey Zmama I got the recipe from allrecipes.com the name of the recipe is Easy Slow Cooker French Dips. The recipe calls for a 4lb rump roast. But I usually use what is on sale. And I have used bigger or smaller roasts with no problem. And I ususally always freeze my leftovers. I have frozen just the meat and have frozen it with the juices. In my opinion the meat says juicer with them froze together. But I have used just the leftover roast for several other dishes. Like beef and noodles, soup, or add some BBQ sauce for some sandwiches. You will love them I promise. And let me know what you think.
Last night's TACOS ended up being TACO SALAD! Because the store didn't have shredded lettuce, only salad mix, so...
Tonight I think will be those chicken fried steaks staring at me from the freezer. Think I'll throw some white country gravy on 'em and do up some mashed potatoes and veggies with it. Sounds like a plan!!
The cheesecake recipe is a base of the New York Style, with whatever added to make it go "chocolate chip", "carrot cake," white chocolate raspberry," --or whatever else they can come up with. Never had one I wouldn't try! (If they crack on top really bad, I just call that "character.") Or I cover it up with topping or whatever.
KAY: Those french dips sound yuuuummm-O! Does the broth get greasy? Or do you just buy the leanest of roasts?
KOLMAR: Did you put tomato sauce in your spaghetti, or did you use another base?

zmama- I love party food every once in a while. His cake was a disaster that I seemed to recover from--at least I hope so, I'll post the pic's tonight so ya'll can see the cake from 
cakelady--I use prego meat flavored sauce (too lazy to make my own). You can do the same thing with penne pasta for a little bit of a better look. I normally just cook the pasta el dente put some sauce in (I don't drown the pasta though just a light coating on the noodles) and then toss in the cheese that's been shredded so it melts a little from the heat of the pasta. Top the pasta with a thin layer of cheese and top with the chicken, warm mushrooms and crips crumbled bacon. I usually serve this with italian bread and dipping oil or garlic bread. I sometimes will take just the cheese, pre cooked chicken, mushrooms and bacon and then put that on the cooked and sliced garlic bread and bake for another few minutes until the cheese is melted. Then cover with a little sauce and eat it. YUM!
Tonight was left over pizza and cake with ice cream.
Ok today was a weird day. I had to babysit this afternoon which is unusual. They brought there lunch. And DH got up early to help DS work on the car. So DH had Hot Pockets. DS had some leftover dips with BBQ sauce. DD wanted Fench Toast and I made extras. Then DS snarfed them down after he got off work. I am thinking I will have some left over Dips.

CakeLadyM It can get greasy depending on the cut of meat. They suggest trimming any excess fat off before you put it in. But sometimes with cheaper roast there is quite abit of fat. So I try to get a leaner cut of meat. And They are YUUUUUMMMMMMMM_O Try it you will like it MIKEY.. I know I am weird. Thanks for the recipe for the cheesecakes. I will have to try me one.
So I need to take a shower and do the dishes. And here I sit again on CC. But seriously make the French Dips they are so easy and you will love them. Easy when you are busy caking and or school. My favorite kind of meal DUMP, DUMP, DUMP and let the crockpot do the rest
Tonight was soup and sandwiches.
I had a ACF meeting so I left the kids with DH He hated it, not being with the kids but with how much work he said they are. I'm sorry but he was with them for 2 1/2 hours and could barely hang, yet I'm the one getting questioned by him on "what have you done all day" HA HA HA, TAKE THAT NASTY DH!!!
The good news is I found out I have a really good chance of getting the scholarship I applied for, but I'm not counting my chickens yet. Also, I was shocked to find out that one of the chef's (don't know who) nominated me for aspiring culinarian of the year for our ACF chapter. I'm one of 7 people nominated. I was really shocked by this one, since I've only been in the culinary program for a short period of time. Today was a good day. I'm happy just because I thought they all hated me in this chapter and I was told that they love me but I didn't believe it. WHEW! Hearing that took a load off.
Tonight was Chicken nuggets,Tator Tots, pork and beans. It has been a day from H***. I will chat with you all later.
Had a doc appt with Ric today - lovely news - HUGE kidney stones 
Good news is that he hasn't had much trouble aka hasn't passed one yet, but we know what to watch for. Oh, and M, talked to them about what we talked about, and he's getting tests scheduled.
Other than that, it was a great day! Sbarros spinach and mushroom pizza for lunch, Godiva chocolates for dessert, two new books 
Yeah, he spoils me if I go with him. Chinese takeout for supper - had homework to do, so no time to cook after being gone all day.
Oh, and good news/bad news! Good news is there are NO graphic designers listed for the Madison area that I can find, so no competition once I graduate. Bad news is that I need to interview one, so it's a few hours round trip to find one!
Well tonight me and my hubby are going out for dinner (For my birthday, it's on Fri) but he has tonight off...yeah! It is going to be a kid free dinner too

Tonight was spinach leaves with marndarine oranges and honey teriaki marinated chicken salad. Kids had mac n' cheese since we got home so late from their dentist appt's. No cavities and they are all good, I'm so happy for that because we don't have dental insurance. The dentist I take them to is an hour away and pricey but he is really good and worth it.
I have to go prepair some more food for a funeral for tomorrow. I'm trying to keep my DH away from the cookie cake. He keeps saying a cookie cake is festive so it's not acceptable for a funeral and just to let him have it. 
I tried posting a couple of days ago and my post got ate...lol. Tonight was hamburger helper. I can't remember what we've ate since the last post.
I had my OB appt today. Everything looks okay for now.

Hi everyone! Today I made some items for a funeral and my mom took them since I couldn't attend. I made one of the most ugly cakes ever! The icing was no where near smooth. The top crusted slightly but as soon as I started to smooth it -- the cake laughed at me secretly inside.
We had breaded pan fried porkchops, green beans and thinly sliced home fries with a side of fruit. Kids went outside to play in the snow and could only handle 20 minutes and came back in with beat red faces and shivering so they are finishing up their hot chocolate right now.
Juju--my post get eaten too sometimes, I think the sites just hungry
Ok last night was Tacos what ever way you want them. DH, DD and I had it in salad form. DS was working on the CAR and grabbed the soft tacos I put together for him and had warming. Desert was pumpkin cupcakes. DD was begging me to make some. so MOMMY was nice. Since she had a dentist appt. also. She had her spacer inserted yesterday. And she was alittle tender.
Tonight I got some fried chicken from the grocery deli. It was another eat when you can kind of night. DS made some mac and cheese and chili concotion when I was shopping. And he grabbed a few legs later. And pretty much the same for DD. DH just munched on the chicken when he got up before work. I ate alittle chicken earlier but I am going to make me a salad later.
JUJU That is weird last night after you posted it showed 2 of the same posts now one is gone. Did you delete one of them ?? And It ate my post before the one I was joking with you in. I told what we had for supper.
mkolmar sorry to here you had some funerals. I hope they weren't family or close friends. It is sad when anyone passes. But alot harder if you are close.
And I know the kind of cake demon you are talking about He shows his ugly head when you really don't want him to So where are my leftover porks chops and home fries??? And at least the kiddo got to have some fun. I know my DD will do the same thing. They just get cabin fever and gotta go out no matter how cold LOL to be a kid again. I HATE THE COLD

When BIL had them SIL had just had a baby then her gallbladder out. He had kept teasing her about having an epidural(sp) Anyway a few weeks after she was home he got stones. He was wanting an epidural then LOL She told him hey I passed a kid and had a surgery now you suck it up and pass the stone. Really she was scared for him. But he had teased her so much she had to tease back. I hope all goes well with him
And a welcome to some of the newbies. I don't have anymore time to catch up.
The funeral was for a lady who passed away at church. She was 93 and her family was HUGE that came in. Close to 180 family members alone. About 250 people total at the funeral my mom said.

Kay - HELP!!! Not sure how to say this, really. Um, French Onion soup mixed smells really gross! And now it smells up my whole house, because I'm trying the French Dip recipe. Is there anything that can be substituted next time? It just started cooking 30 minutes ago, so the smells haven't mixed yet, and it doesn't smell beefy yet. I'm sure it will be good tonight, but is this normal? (I usually use onion powder, never cooked with FO Soup!)
Zmama I don't know about any substitutions. Maybe you could put an extra can of broth and maybe the dry onion soup packet. That might work also. It had an odd smell to me at first. I just found that just leaving the lid on the crockpot and not checking on it helped to contain the smell. But later when it all blended together it's not that bad. So I hope they work out for you. What kind of beer did you put in them??

alright all.....i'm back!!!! thanks so much for the concerns and email!!! passion parties has really taken off for me. a lot more than i could have ever expected. so i've been supre busy with trying to keep up with that and trying to keep up with my son who is now 10 months old!!!!! he's cruising around now on the furniture so i have to watch him since we have spanish paver tiles in the living room. anyway - let's see....
my mom and i joined weight watchers so dinners have been much healthier. today makrs one week so i'm anxious to weigh in at tonight's meeting!!! last night's dinner consisted of:
tortas w/
refried beans (except they weren't refried just smashed)
cut up pieces of steak
cabbage
*light* sour cream
cilantro
avacado slices
and some mexican cheese.

YEAH! Not only is DODI back but so is MXPARK!!!!! I was beginning to wonder what happened to ya'll! I'm glad your passion parties are taking off. I have a friend who does the Pure Romance parties and she is really busy too. Do you sell novelty cakes to your clients also? My friend wants me to start making some for her, but I don't know if I could I have little ones at home and the kitchen I use is in my church.

Tonight was scrambled eggs, toast, yogurt and cereal for the kids. My DH and I are going to be having Chili tonight with cheese melted on top (mine will have sour cream also 
) in a bread bowl. I make my chili though with Angus Beef not H-burg, it really kicks up the flavor.
Anyone heard from Monica lately? I'll pm her and tell her to start eating more.
Kay - OMG the beef was AMAZING! It smelled bad for about n hour and a half, then started to smell yummy. I made a mistake and used low sodium broth, so had to add seasoning to balance it. Also added stuff from my favorite shop - he adds banana peppers and bell peppers and chopped onion to top them off. OMG! OMG! OMG! My guy and I were fighting for the dipping juice! THANK YOU SO MUCH! We stuffed ourselves on the sandwiches and didn't even touch the potato salad. Tomorrow will be leftovers - glad I bought a big roast!
